We have stayed at the Lamplighter many times in the past but havent been through here in about 3 years. We stayed there this weekend and was very dissappointed. They have not done anything toward improvements. My wife wouldnt even used the shower. I did and it made the bedroom floor wet, major leak somewhere. The whole room was a... More

We picked this hotel because it was affordable. We were thrilled with the value once we got there. Clean, well maintained and just what we were looking for. Stayed one night as we were just passing through. It suited us.

We stay in 30-40 hotels a year traveling as a band. We came into Alamosa in June of 2014 for a show and the promoter booked us in this hotel. Normally we handle this ourselves. We go into the rooms late, after 1am. This is obviously a budget motel, so you shouldn't expect luxury. I do expect any motel to... More

All we would say is that the Lamplighter needs a new wick! Disappointed in the whole experience especially as it was our first introduction to small town Colorado. Can I say any more but avoid. There must be better in town.

We travel all the time on the bike, and stay at a wide range of accommodations. We do like historic motels and those with local color and charm. Well, the color of this place looked a lot better in its ads than in person. Color it run-down and no one really cares. The signs for the Lamplighter would be the... More

The lady who checked us in was lovely, so helpful. We looked at the room and it seemed worn but fine, no obvious mold or nasty smells. It also came with a hot breakfast. In the morning I had a couple of itchy bites so checked further into the bed. Yep, bedbugs. We told the fellow who was at the... More

The rate was the cheapest place to stay close to the Train which we were taking in the morning. It seemed clean but the A/C broke in the middle of the night and blew heat - we woke up sweating; the Refrigerator did not work, the Free Wi-Fi was only available sitting in the office. The people were friendly. Would... More

Located on Main Street this is closet motel to downtown, and is great for an overnight transit stop or as a base to visit the Sand dunes. Have stayed here before and latest stay was July 10th for 1 night again in room 121. Friendly staff, large king room with twin queen beds, good size bathroom and separate wash basin... More

We stayed here two nights and had a nice stay. The staff was friendly enough, and the included breakfast was nice. The room was clean and we had no problems. I really liked the brick walls inside the room.

We had the misfortune of stopping here, as it was the only motel in the area with a room. There was some type of an event that we did not know about going on. We had come to the area to look at some real estate. Anyway, we went in and the lady at the desk was nice, we grimaced... More
