I L-O-V-E this hotel for many reasons. I love the decor, the peacefulness, and the amenities amongst other things. The staff is outstanding! From the time we step into the beautiful lounge/registration area to looking out the balcony we feel at home! We began coming to Avila La Fonda about 4 years ago. Our first trip was for our 18th... Feels like home the moment you walk in and the staff does everything/anything to make your stay memorable. After simply "putting up" with below acceptable service at so many other properties, this is a classic example of how it should be done. Not beach front, but it does not matter as it is only a block away. Simply The Best... More

We have stayed at this outstanding hotel twice now and we will definitely be going back. The rooms are very nice, the atmosphere of the hotel is excellent, but what really stands out is the staff. Everybody at the La Fonda went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic trip. We travel quite a bit, and... More

We stayed here on our wedding night, and we couldn't have asked for more. In addition to the room being comfortable and well-appointed, there were some bonuses, such as complimentary snacks and water in our room and a card congratulating us on our marriage, that took it from "a nice place to stay" to making us really feel comfortable, at... We expect a very nice hotel for we paid over $400 for it,to find out that its not by the beach its in corner of the road which is noisy. The front desk staff does have annoying accent she talks so fast that we couldnt understand what she was saying. She gave us 2 free glasses. Our room does have full... More

After reading all the great reviews we were looking forward to a special treat in a lovely hotel. Unfortunately nothing was as it was reviewed. Our room was dingy with stained carpet, and a very used and über saggy bed. At $400. A night it totally missed the mark. We found the room depressing and the hotel lacking in professional... More

So when is the last time you were left a basket of snacks in your room and told take what you want? A free snack bar in your room versus the video monitored mini snack bar does not necessarily make the room but it was the start. Wonderfully decorated in a Spanish theme, comfortable, clean and an extremely attentive staff... More

We stayed four nights in the Owner Suite on our way up the coast. Avila Beach is a hidden gem--much more relaxed than the Pismo Beach hustle. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The room was nice and had lots of amenities like a steam shower and sauna. When we had a problem with the television, the staff came... More

We chose Avila La Fonda because of its stellar rating & because of its elevators, free parking & ADA compliance rooms. Garage on the premises with elevator to the lobby made bringing in our baggage quite easy. We were in Rm 101, right off the lobby. The room was quiet considering it's location, but cramped with a portable AC unit... More
