We agree with all the good things that have been written in previous reviews for this hotel. The only small thing we didn't like was the murphy beds. They are not as comfortable as a normal bed and make a lot of creaking noises when you roll over during the night. Ask for a room with a normal bed and... more

Avila La Fonda is a beautiful hotel. My husband and I just went for an overnight to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We love SLO/Avila/Pismo, and this was the perfect place for us. It is a very short walk to the main strip in Avila Beach with shops, restaurants, a great pier to walk out and watch the ocean (we... more

Avila Beach is a sleepy little seaside town, loved everything about it. The Avila La Fonda is less than a block from the beach/peer - which is rather secluded area. We went to a great little "farmers market" held along the beachfront on Friday night with a live band playing classic rock. Rooms at La Fonda don't have a view,... more

Quaint little beach, with a lovely hotel experience at the La Fonda. From the wine reception held each evening to the serene guests rooms, this hotel exceeded my high expectations. Complimentary snack baskets in your room, free guest laundry, wonderful service- everything you could want from a hotel. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend you give it a... more

We absolutely loved this hotel! Numerous waterfalls, fireplaces, vibrant California/Mexican decor & rustic tile throughout. The reception area has wonderful appetizers & wine from 5pm-7:30 PM. There was always huge bowls of fresh fruit, freshly baked cookies, juice, tea & coffee, waiting for guests to enjoy. We stayed in Retreat Room #209, which has a fireplace, jacuzzi, 42" Plasma TV,... more

We stayed a few days before the busy Valentine's Day weekend and loved it. This was our first weekend away from our new baby and were blown away with all the amenities in the Spa Room. The in room Jacuzzi Tub was great and we could watch a huge flat screen TV without getting out of the tub. The bed... more

I loved the amenities in our room. The little things really mean a lot! This is the first time that i've been able to reheat my leftovers inthe room and eat off of real plates. I forgot a fork, but they were in the room, too ( this room did not have a kitchenette- the plates were testefully stored out... more

A weekend away from Los Angeles was the plan to celebrate a birthday. Found this hotel on line and read great reviews, so I decided to take the plunge. I was very happy with my choice. It is a relatively small hotel with beautiful rooms. Stayed in the "Great Room" on the first floor. Must agree a little with the... more

Ohh wow, this is more than perfect. More than pleasurable, exotic & breath taking, all in one. I found this HOTEL on a fluke, can you believe it? My husband & I have enjoyed our fair share of Las Vegas resorts & hotels, Atlanta, Ga. scenery, & even cruises, but none have left a lasting impression like this. This was... more
