Whenever I encountered or had to talk with anyone at the front desk they were quite rude to me. Avila Beach itself was amazing, but having to stay at that hotel dampened the whole stay for me. more

The place to go if you want to relax and enjoy the ocean. We have been 5 times in the last 6 years. You can hear the ocean from your room all night, a beautiful beach is just across the street. Every trip we have seen some great wildlife, schools of dolphins, whales, pelicans feasting on schools of fish and... more

My husband and I decided to get away for a week-end and stick close to home. We stopped in on a late Friday afternoon and were sure glad they had room. The Manager was great and up-graded us to an ocean front room at a great price. The room on the 2nd floor and had an awesome view of the... more

I called and tried to book a room-I asked questions such as the size of the room and the layout as I have a toddler who needs his crib in an area separate from me and my husband to get a good nights sleep. The man I spoke with became rude and frustrated with my questions but there was no... more

The first night we stayed in room 311, which was nothing like i thought it was gonna be. i think it was called a family suite. it was like another reviewer said a converted weekly apartment from the 70's or something. carpet looked gross, restroom was old and i did not want to shower in it. the room smelled ,... more

Rooms clean but really dark and very loud. I could hear everything going on outside and in the room above me;including the child that cried all night. They claim to have wifi, but it is only in the lobby not the rooms. Could be okay for a beach stay with the family but not for relaxing... more

I booked the family suite which looks nothing like the pictures on the web page. The family suite was supposed to come with a kitchen and appliances which it had none of these. The room had no air conditioning, room was dirty and the toilet did not work properly. I asked the front desk what they could do to help... more

I have spent a year traveling ocean front California. I can truly say, this is Nirvana. You will return again and again. After my first visit, I already returned twice. This is a older, comfortable hotel right on the beach. The location will amaze you and take your breath away. Waves you can hear from the entire hotel. The staff... more

No big deal...my fiance went to dry her face with a towel and the towel ring plus its base came off the wall because maintenance didn't screw it in. The edge of the base pierced her toe, gashing it, and breaking the end of it. No phone in the room meant having to leave her bleeding in the bathroom while... more

From beginning to end, this is a fabulous place to stay. You can't beat the location. The lobby is charming, the common area is welcoming with a fireplace, bottled water, coffee, hot cocoa, hot tea and popcorn. Our room (spa room) was very comfortable. We loved laying in the cabana bed watching the fireplace and seeing the ocean. If we... more
