with a freeway nearby and 40 people within earshot it was a miserable night's sleep. As you can see from the picture, our firepit was 3 feet from the picnic table and 5 feet from the tent. Our site was literally a dirt parking space marked off with red paint . Our fire pit was 10 feet from the next... More

Avila Hot Springs Resort. What a disaster! When booking we were told that the hook up came with all the usual amenities…NOT. There was no TV hook up available. We mentioned that we would have our dog with us; they indicated no problem…there was. After staying there for over a month we were asked to pay $30 a month for... More

Before going to Avila Hot Springs I read everything I could about it. I found mixed reviews mainly having to do with the cleanliness of the bathrooms but decided not to give that too much weight and booked a two-night tent site. We invited another family and we had sites next to each other (C6 & RV site next to... More

We reserved a campsite at Avila Hot Springs Resort as part of a longer roadtrip. The location was chosen simply because it fit into the radius of a day's drive. Other resorts in Avila Beach area are very spendy-- Avila Hot Springs Resort is very affordable, and their website looked nice, so we chose it. It also is a historic... More

I have been to a lot of Hot Springs before. Many of them have the same issues such as wet floors in the bathroom, hair on the floor, the occassional towel or swimsuit forgotten-you get the picture. This one is no exception. However, they do a reasonably good job of keeping the place clean. Mind you; it is an older... More

If you have low expectations, this place is for you. My mom, sister, two daughters and I stayed for two nights in a trailer cabin. It is interesting that the website does not reveal the trailer wheels.. The negatives.... Upon arrival, we found food in the fridge... a wilted old salad on a plate, some cooked garlic on a plate,... Never, ever, ever, ever again. My advise - DON'T STAY HERE if you think you will need to use a bathroom, breathe, or in general just don't like puking your gutts up due to extremely disgusting, gross, nasty surroundings. Our family had the unfortunate experience of mid-Aug vacation stay overnight [don't let the pictures on their site fool you!!] OMG!... More

We rented a cabin for a weekend of fun in the sun. As a couple, we had previously stayed at Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort, just down the road from Avila Beach Resort. We had seen the resort, and thought it might be a good place to take children. The cabin was dirty ( floors not mopped, hideabed was filthy and... More

My family arrived at the Avila Hot Springs resort on July 23, 2009. We were looking forward to our stay near Avila Beach which included a pool with waterslides. After checking in, we drove to our campsite. Our campsite was one of several along the top terrace of the camping area. The sites were separated by two by fours and... More

We stayed for two nights at Avila Hot Springs in a tent camp site. The sites were on top of each other, seperated by a 2x4 piece of lumber. My huge complaint was lack of toilets. For the whole camp there are two toilets for men, two toilets for women. IN THE MENS ROOM, ONE OF THE TOILETS SEATS WAS... More
