Stayed here for my birthday some time ago, when we got there everything looked nice. A bit smaller then pictured, but nice. Then that evening we went to pull back the sheets and noticed there was dirt in the bed. We called down to the front desk and stated that we were headed out to dinner for a few hours... More

The rooftop deck is what sold this place to us, and it didn't disappoint. My friend and I enjoyed a bottle of wine at sunset and it was great. Would be even better if they could get the heat lamp working. Rooms are fairly small and the bathroom is smaller. We had massages, which were fantastic! My only beef is... More

Boutique hotel with a gorgeous rooftop view. We had an ocean view on the 2nd floor though it was somewhat obstructed by electrical lines and buildings. Small room, balcony and bathroom. However given the island's quaint nature and commitment to conservation these things were expected. Also had a massage that was awesome through their spa. Wish we had booked more... More

This was our first visit to Catalina. The hotel was perfect and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Our room had an ocean view and balcony (recommend). The best thing was the rooftop patio (pictured).! One afternoon we bought wine and cheese and sat out there. Breakfast was more than ample - hard boiled eggs, warm croissants, English muffins, cinnamon... More

Loved our Hotel and we definitely took advantage of the deck. We were greated with a happy hour on Friday, nice wine and cheese. Breakfast was good. Rooms are updated and nice. The hotel was a few streets behind the main street which was good so it was quiet when we went to sleep. Very nice staff. Very helpful and... More

The Aurora is a little gem. It has a European feel, as they have made the most out of small spaces, including a microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker in each room. The rooms are all very clean and well decorated and the beds were VERY comfortable. The rooftop deck is awesome offering a great view of the cove and... More

We thought that we had found the perfect place for our recent visit to Catalina. It is very conveniently located to everything in Avalon. Easy walking (though a little up hill coming back) to everything in this small port town.BEAUTIFUL rooftop deck for daytime or night time views of the marina with a snack and a glass of wine! Very nice,... More

While I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Aurora, I'm sorry another group of guests disturbed your stay. We do have an on-site innkeeper who lives on property. I hope that you will come and stay at Aurora again. More

Beautiful view of the harbor from our second floor room. We arrived on the ferry very early, but luckily, our room was ready. Immaculate. The housekeeping staff deserves 5 stars just for that! The rooms are small, but it's a boutique hotel and that's to be expected. You are not in there long anyway, you have an island to explore... More

If you stay here be prepared to walk a short distance uphill. This is a boutique hotel, nice and spacious. We had a suite which was a junior size and spacious. The view of Avalon harbor was great. The staff was not as friendly as I expected except for one young lady. Be aware the island has a drought and... More

Thank you taking the time to write a review of the Aurora. We're glad you enjoyed your suite. We are located up a hill, which we take the time to explain to guests when they make their reservations. I really appreciate you pointing out the drought we're experiencing. Visitors and residents alike have worked hard on water conservation methods and... More

Rooms are small typical for Catalina. Beds are very comfy and the air conditioner worked wonderful. This hotel is up a steep hill so be sure you want to do this a couple times a day. bathroom way too small, you can not turn around. This bathroom is like being on a ship. We return yearly for the Jazz Traxs... More
