We had a B&B gift certificate so we took a 2 day/1 night mid-week trip to Avalon. The Aurora was just the perfect spot. It has a terrific roof top patio great for night until 10 and our room , though tiny was clean and had a great harbor view. It was a bit of a steep hike up to... More

We were very pleased with our room at the Aurora! While it is small, it has everything you need. Tempurpedic mattress, Keurig coffee maker, frig with complementary water, safe, and bath amenities. It also has excellent lighting - (so many times there are not enough lamps for reading). We had a room on the second floor, corner, which had a... More

I was very pleased with this hotel, the property was a little off the beaten path and private. Our room was on the small side, but very efficiently designed, modern, well appointed and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and we are definately coming back this year.

Upon arrival, I was upgraded to a suite! It was on the second floor and had a nice view of the bay. The room was modern and clean, had a comfortable bed and had a wonderful jacuzzi tub. The Aurora is located up a little side street from the main drag so you can enjoy the peace and quiet from... More

Went to Catalina for a couple days over my birthday. My husband took care of the arrangements,, so I am not absolutley certain what he paid. We checked in around noon and as expected our room was not ready so the desk staff glady checked our bags and we went off to lunch. Toward the end of our meal we... More

Stayed here for a weekend in August, and expected a bit more for $329/night. I was in a standard room with a partial ocean view. The room was tiny, the carpet stained, mold was growing on the bottom of the drapes, and the bathroom is uncomfortably small. Overall the staff was extremely friendly, the roof deck is a fantastic amenity,... More

The Aurora was a great hotel. It is located a block from the Main Street, but it is up quite a steep grade. It's not to bad, but when you're already tired, it can seem like it's a long way. They do have a nice wine and cheese on Friday night for guests. The people were very friendly.

My wife, 2 girls and our in-laws spent a couple of days here before the 4th of July holiday and had a really great stay. I found the hotel on Trip Advisor (as always) and definitely wasn't let down. In fact, it was even better than expected. The staff were friendly from the very first phone call to make the... More

I never write reviews but just had to for this hotel. My husband and I booked a weekend stay for our 2nd anniversary. Upon our late arrival we were kindly greeted by the staff. They gave us directions to a nearby restaurant and called ahead for us to make sure they reserved a table. Even the maids were friendly and... More

We just stayed 3 nights. This is a boutique hotel of the type so common in Europe. Smaller rooms but very well designed in an effort to mazimize the use of space. It was recently remodeled with a contemporary decor. Great memory foam bed. We had third floor, harbor side with an unobstructed view of the harbor and the sunrise.... More
