We stayed at this hotel because it is closer to Casino Point (although up a relatively steep hill) and was inexpensive. My husband and I are avid scuba divers that needed a nice place to stay and a good nights sleep. The whole hotel has been newly renovated/remodeled with fresh paint, carpet, fixtures, and bedding. On the top floor they... more

Catalina Beach House has a variety of room sizes and amenities. You can go solo or take a family. You are on top of a hill and can overlook the bay. A wonderful barbeque area with table, comfortable sitting area and utensils for your cookout. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They always have a smile for you. Several... more

You do need to catch a taxi from the boat, because it is literally a hike up Marilla. Very helpful staff, when they are on site. Chris was especially accommodating. The rate was pretty good for Catalina. The room was very clean, but it was tight quarters. Beds were comfortable, too. The kitchenette in our room was very helpful in... more

We were greeted by Chris and he was VERY accomodating and friendly. It wasn't off to a great start becasue when we got to the office after DRAGGING our luggage up the very steep incline, all we wanted to do was jump on a bed. However, once we were at the office, NO ONE was there for about 10 minutes!... more

We were greeted with the friendliest employees & felt very welcomed. All were very accommodating & eager to help us with whatever questions or needs we had. The hotel is a great value & our room was very clean. Once you get over the short walk uphill, (great for after dinner) you can enjoy the quiet neighborhood & outdoor patio... more

May 12, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

A group of us reserved 2 rooms so that we could spend the weekend diving. They ended up giving us a 3rd room for free, because they couldn't fit the requested rollaway bed into the rooms. I was very apprehensive because of some of the reviews on this site, but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms aren't really that impressive, but... more

This was the perfect small hotel one block up the hill from the town of Avalon, with a sunbathing deck andan ocean view, tables, and chairs, even a barbecue on the first level. The staff was super-friendly and quick to respond, and the rooms were clean and comfy, including a kitchenette. I would definitely stay again with friends, my boyfriend,... more

We stayed here for one night during our 3-day trip to Catalina and found it a fine place to stay for the price. We made our reservation over the phone a week prior, and according to one of the reception reps, the hotel had recently had some renovations done. We paid $84 for the night, which was among the cheapest... more

My husband and I stayed there for a weekend getaway. We choose this hotel because the room was VERY cheap. I now know why. We were on the late boat over so there was no one at the hotel. We had to wait 10 min before someone came to get us our keys. It was very small, which is fine... more

No where near the ferry dock, though the walk is not bad. No one was in the office, so we called, waited 20 minutes for staff to arrive, and then found the muggy, mildewed, dingy, dirty room under the stairs was to be our "room with a courtyard view." The room was no more than a hallway with the bed... more
