Great views on the community balcony, but if you're in a group needing two rooms then just get rooms 501 and 511. Those two rooms have an adjoining deck of their own, which has amazing views of Avalon Bay! Two of my friends, my wife, and I loved this quaint hotel. Easily walkable to the main boardwalk and just far... More

Very adequate hotel. Clean and nice bathrooms. Decor is outdated but lovely view from the top deck. Coffee in the morning , but with powdered creamer, yuck. The price was reasonable since it is off season.

We stayed two nights at this very pleasent Victorian Style Hotel. For the price, it was more then extected because of the view. We were on the 6th floor very near the outside deck. Room was large and had plenty of room for our scuba diving gear. The rooms were adequate and comfortable but not elegant or luxirious, but then... More

We had to stay an extra night because our ferry was cancelled due to high winds which was fine by us. They gave us a good rate for the second night and were very helpful, The room was basic but spacious with a partial view of the ocean from the bay window. The best thing was the rooftop patio with... Sara and I tried a few other hotels in Avalon before discovering the St. Lauren about 3 years ago. Our most recent stay was Jan. 15 - 16, and things are as good as ever. The hotel stands out because of its very attractive Victorian architectural syle, coupled with the fact that it sits part of the way up a... More

We stayed for 3 nights in early January. The weather was superb. The staff here is exemplary. Very helpful and eager to please. The room was more spacious than we expected for an older, Victorian style. The patios offered wonderful views of the harbor and a nice place to relax. They are happy to hold your luggage before and after... More

I will say it was a place to stay, they were very nice. But other than that, the doors were not clean, which makes me wonder about the rest of the room. There was no drinking water available, only bottles of water for 2 dollars, and only bills accepted. There was no room service, or food in the hotel at... More

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this review Hotel St. Lauren guest room doors are painted white. The doors do not have a kick plate at the bottom of the door. My first visit to Catalina Island. It was easy to spot the St Lauren bright pink exterior with white trim. Quite charming from the outside with small patio's and large scenic deck on sixth floor. Small lobby with antique furnishings and pleasant owners. Room was small and basic with few amenities but clean. Road noise could poise a problem if... More

The hotel staff was curt, not friendly - kinda like they didn't want us there, weird- (except the night security guy) - the windows in the room only open 2 inches, so we couldnt really look out. the "public" decks were only open at 9am and closed at 9pm - so never a chance to sip coffee in the morning,... Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address the above guest comments. Hotel St. Lauren is a six-story hotel. The windows do not have any screens or protective bars in order to optimize the view through the windows. The windows are restricted to a four inch opening for safety and liability reasons (ie; a local boy fell to his... More

I wasn't sure about this hotel – what to expect. I'm admittedly a bit high maintenance when it comes to hotels, and I'm always a little unsure about non-chain hotels. I never know what to expect. First reaction to this hotel was from my 5yr old granddaughter. "A pink hotel? My dream come true!" What little girl wouldn't love to... More
