Found a good deal for my group of 4 adults for a Saturday stay here. The place has a very quaint, San Francisco exterior, and conveniently located just up a very small hill. The interior is not really memorable, but we weren't looking for a resort so it was all good. The service at the front desk is not really... More

This is a decent hotel for Avalon. I like that it has an elevator and A/C in the room. The bed was firm but not too horrible to sleep in and the appeared to be pretty clean. The front lobby is new and updated. Its a little hike to get to but not horrible. Vons is nearby if you want... More

Stayed one night March 2015. Great location. Roof top patio is fabulous. Room was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Like every thing in Avalon it is old but well preserved. A neat place to visit and take a golf cart ride around the island. Don't miss a tour of the old casino.

The Hotel St. Lauren is a reproduction of an old Victorian building. If you didn't know that, you would think it is actually old. There is a musty odor in the hallway (but not in the room). The rooms are very dated but generally clean. A hairdryer is provided but not a coffee maker. Coffee is available in the lobby,... More

Just a great property with a large communal deck on the top floor, the 6th. Panoramic view of Avalon Harbor that is a two block walk from the hotel. One of the very few, perhaps only, hotel in Avalon with an elevator. Staff is very cordial and efficient.

Our first stay at the Hotel St. Lauren, for three nights in October 2014, was a truly wonderful experience. While on-line reservations seemed very user-friendly, we chose to use the telephone. Our call was handled with efficiency and courtesy; not something one gets from a computer screen. The hotel itself is charming and an easy walk from most points of... More

The hotel is a quaint Victorian. The lobby décor doesn't compliment the hotel at all. The furniture is very modern and the hotel is Victorian. Our room was very small and dark, but for the amount of time we spent in it, it was fine. It was clean and just up the hill from downtown. The patio in the 6th... More

We were upgraded the day before we arrived and I'm so glad we were...most of the rooms are kinda small so ask about the sizes of the room. We loved our queen with the tub and shared Balcony. Even though it was shared, it was awesome (literally right below their open 6th floor balcony). It would be good for a... More

Let me start by saying the view from the 6th floor rooftop is amazing and the lobby looks nice enough. Also, the outside of the building looks very cool and Victorian. Other than that, the place is a dump. As soon as we walked into our room, I thought, 'Are you kidding me?!' The room was disgusting and reminded me... More

My husband and I visited Catalina for our honey moon stay and decided on Hotel St. Lauren based on reviews and the fact that we could get an ocean view room with a balcony for under $200. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage and enjoy the town and 6th floor rooftop patio, which is amazing. Customer... More
