Our first stay at the Hotel St. Lauren, for three nights in October 2014, was a truly wonderful experience. While on-line reservations seemed very user-friendly, we chose to use the telephone. Our call was handled with efficiency and courtesy; not something one gets from a computer screen. The hotel itself is charming and an easy walk from most points of... More

The hotel is a quaint Victorian. The lobby décor doesn't compliment the hotel at all. The furniture is very modern and the hotel is Victorian. Our room was very small and dark, but for the amount of time we spent in it, it was fine. It was clean and just up the hill from downtown. The patio in the 6th... More

We were upgraded the day before we arrived and I'm so glad we were...most of the rooms are kinda small so ask about the sizes of the room. We loved our queen with the tub and shared Balcony. Even though it was shared, it was awesome (literally right below their open 6th floor balcony). It would be good for a... More

Let me start by saying the view from the 6th floor rooftop is amazing and the lobby looks nice enough. Also, the outside of the building looks very cool and Victorian. Other than that, the place is a dump. As soon as we walked into our room, I thought, 'Are you kidding me?!' The room was disgusting and reminded me... More

My husband and I visited Catalina for our honey moon stay and decided on Hotel St. Lauren based on reviews and the fact that we could get an ocean view room with a balcony for under $200. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage and enjoy the town and 6th floor rooftop patio, which is amazing. Customer... More

I called this hotel prior to booking to find out about wheelchair access. I informed them that I am in a wheelchair and needed to know if they were accessible. The lady who answered the phone said they definitely were. And she was right. The halls, though narrow, fit my wheelchair. The room, though cramped had room for me and... More

Recently chose this hotel because of the pictures they have online of their rooms. From the pictures, it looked a lot better than most of the hotels we looked at. Upon arrival, the woman running the desk was very rude and didn't seem welcoming. Our room was small (not sure how they crammed a king size bed in there) and... More

Small quaint old hotel but had a comfortable room with private bath. Friendly staff. Rooms could use an update, but were clean! Great view from the rooftop terrace. Easy to walk to downtown shopping and Catalina Express.

Hotel St. Lauren has a wonderful view of Avalon and to the endless ocean from their rooftop deck. It is a great place to enjoy drinks on the comfortable patio furniture, under the umbrellas. There is also a smaller deck off the second floor. The hotel is located upon a hill, and is about 200 from the beach/downtown. There were some... More

We have stayed in a few different hotels on the island; all seem to fall short of ideal in one way or another. Hotel St. Lauren is no exception but worked very well for us and we will keep it on our list for future visits. The staff was excellent. Check in and check out was easy as pie. Our... More
