The Pavilion is just great- you've got to remember that Avalon doesn't have that many places to stay that are swanky. There's no Rosewood resort on Catalina. So, it's not perfect- the rooms are small, but it is clean and fresh and strangely compelling. I like the big lawn area in the middle, it's like one big family there. The... More

I visited Catalina by myself for some scuba diving and general relaxation. I booked at Pavilion Lodge due to reviews and recommendations from the dive shop. The hotel is simple (which is common in island culture) but clean, friendly, and the bed was actually very comfortable (good sleep is a luxery itself). the towels were also in good condition; the... The Pavillion is in the heart of town. Architecturally, it is a dated motel with a central lawn with tables and chairs. It is well and efficiently run. It seems very suitable for families as there are children all over the place and roll out cots brought to many rooms. The central lawn gets full of folks, with overlapping early-arrivers... More

We had originally planned to stay at the Banning House in quiet, isolated Two Harbors to start our first ever week alone in 12 years without kids. We made a prepaid reservation at Banning House, but every room but our own was rented out to a large family group who partied into the night on the patio just outside our... More

This hotel is one of the first when you exit the Catalina Express. We arrived at 7:15 am and were able to check our bags into the hotel while we walked around a bit. The exterior of the hotel is nothing special. In fact maybe looks like a 2 story Motel 6 or something, but the rooms were awesome. Most... More

My husband and I traveled to Catalina for a week and stayed at the Pavilion Lodge. What a wonderful place to stay. Our room was very comfortable and we had plenty of storage space. The beds have lots of pillows and down comforters that were changed daily. There is someone in the office 24 hours a day if you need... More

My husband and I stayed with our twin 17 year old daughters and had a wonderful time. I was a little apprehensive about the location of this hotel being in the main part of Avalon, but it was wonderful. The staff was very helpful. The nice courtyard was great for breakfast and sitting out during the day. Our stay came... More

My husband and I came here for an anniversary weekend getaway. This was my first time to spend an overnighter in Catalina so I wasn't sure what to expect. I booked online with a package deal. The room, two tours and the boat rides were all included for one price. We got here and were very pleasantly surprised at how... More

We were not disappointed, we had read the reviews and this hotel was all and more. The room was wonderful, the staff was very helpful and got us a cot for our son, the breakfast was lovely on the front terrace. It was just a fabulous location and hotel. We would definately come back here again!

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Pavilion Lodge as part of a social club excursion by private boat to Catalina Island. We were dropped off at the pier by dinghy and walked no more than two hundred yards to the reception counter at the Pavilion Lodge. We later walked down to the pier and while the brochures... More
