First trip to Catalina was especially wonderful due to the staff and amenities at the Pavillion Hotel. The gardens are beautiful. The guests all seemed to enjoy the 5pm wine and cheese service as much as we did, good breakfast also. Would definately stay here again.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at The Pavilion Hotel in Avalon and it was amazing. From the moment you get off the boat - there is someone waiting to take your luggage for you to the moment you leave - they treat you like royalty (even my 9 and 10 year old children). The hotel is just... More

Took our 15 year old nephew for birtthday trip and had a tremendous time. We are talking about our plans to return. Very nice and comfortable without being over the top. Breakfast was tasty with lots of selection, nice to eat it on our patio outside our room. Loved the wine and cheese in the afternoon. The hotel grounds are... More

If you're looking for a clean, relaxing hotel in a prime locaion, with attention to detail in it's customer service; the Pavillion is for you. It's not known as the lodge anymore for obvious reasons. It's recent remodeling has passers by stopping to gaze at the beautiful courtyard and the adorable, beautifully dressed patio. Both of which host the continental... More

They had all my favorite things. Starbucks coffee, continental breakfast, favorite candy, a place to keep luggage when yr boat was leaving later. We did the unlimited package well worth it. Every one was very friendly and the lounge area was excellent looking out to the ocean. Cant say enough good things. Will be back soon.

Pros: Location, updated rooms and grounds, complimentary breakfast/nightly wine and cheese, friendly/helpful staff Cons: None. Possibly price (depending on budget). Any small flaws were found only by knit picking (shower window was stuck closed, maid forgot to replace coffee one day, night staff told me I could use their desktop computer for checking email, etc/day staff said it was only... Just returning from this hotel and we REALLY enjoyed it. It is in a terrific location --- about a block from the ferry/ship that brings you from the mainland, and in the middle of all the shops/restaurants/etc. I have never been to Catalina before and this was just a great stay. There was a lot on the island that I... More

We booked a package including tours and had no problem getting the tours we wanted even though you could not get the tickets until the day of the tour. All staff members were very helpful and friendly. The cheese and wine tasting was a nice touch.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful, service was impeccable, people great, location was perfect. I loved this hotel and breakfast and cheese time were well worth it. My only negative statement is that they get you to do the ultimate tour package and the tours are all booked and you definately can not get on the zip line promotion during your... More

If you are familiar with Catalina hotels, you will know that not too many of them have been updated & renovated. I have stayed at the Pavilion hotel in the past and it was satisfactory. This time however, I learned it was recently renovated and very contemporary. Upon my arrival, I hardly recognized it. A whole new fresh look. The... More
