The hotel is located very conveniently to the restaurants, shops, beaches, and activities. The rooms are nice and beds comfy. The bathrooms are okay, nothing fancy. Two negatives were I noticed yellow stains on the bed linens (towards the floor & against the wall so maybe the maid didn't see them), & the slider going out to the balcony was... More

We have been going to Hotel Metropole on Catalina for decade or more. The rooms are clean and airy and the hotel is in the heart of Avalon and an easy walk to all the best restaurants and attractions. We especially appreciate the friendly staff and the very nice breakfast bar in the mornings. The coffee is really quite good....and... More

We've stayed here several years ago and the hotel hasn't changed much; still very nice and clean. Beautiful rooms, very clean. Nice bathroom--cool skylight. Good service and nice continental breakfast every morning. We even received a complimentary bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Great view of the beach and marina from the jacuzzi. Only downside is no pool.

We loved our room...hardwood floors and 2 comfortable queen size beds...spacious for a family of 4. It's hard to find a room with 2 queen beds in Catalina. But the bathroom was horrible - so old. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard. Even though there was a lot of noise outside, the room was actually very quiet. The staff were nice.... More

We stayed at the Metropole on an overnight Catalina visit. We arrived in the late morning, and the hotel was nice enough to store our baggage and give us beach towels before our check in time. We had a suite facing the harbor, and the room was beautiful! The balcony was small, but the view was spectacular. The jacuzzi on... More

So we had fairly low expectations to begin with since Catalina Island is not known for high-end hotels. But when looking at Hotel Metropole's website they represent themselves as the premier hotel on the island. It is a 3-star hotel, nothing more, nothing less. Our room (Ocean Superior) had a nice view from a little balcony with 2 chairs but... More

We arrived mid-week for a romantic birthday getaway and I booked the ocean view mini suite. The room had a perfect view and was nicely decorated. The staff was helpful and friendly, until we had a nighttime noise issue. The street noise is fine, but the rooms have wooden floors with no area rugs to soften the noise from above.... More

Overall we had a good stay here but it wasn't amazing. The front desk staff was a little apathetic and always on their cell phones. At one point we asked if we could get something from our luggage (room wasn't ready so they were holding it) and the girl at the from said she had no idea where they kept... More
