We stayed at the Metropole on an overnight Catalina visit. We arrived in the late morning, and the hotel was nice enough to store our baggage and give us beach towels before our check in time. We had a suite facing the harbor, and the room was beautiful! The balcony was small, but the view was spectacular. The jacuzzi on... More

So we had fairly low expectations to begin with since Catalina Island is not known for high-end hotels. But when looking at Hotel Metropole's website they represent themselves as the premier hotel on the island. It is a 3-star hotel, nothing more, nothing less. Our room (Ocean Superior) had a nice view from a little balcony with 2 chairs but... More

We arrived mid-week for a romantic birthday getaway and I booked the ocean view mini suite. The room had a perfect view and was nicely decorated. The staff was helpful and friendly, until we had a nighttime noise issue. The street noise is fine, but the rooms have wooden floors with no area rugs to soften the noise from above.... More

Overall we had a good stay here but it wasn't amazing. The front desk staff was a little apathetic and always on their cell phones. At one point we asked if we could get something from our luggage (room wasn't ready so they were holding it) and the girl at the from said she had no idea where they kept... More

We've been going to Catalina for several years and originally stayed elsewhere but when we found The Hotel Metropole we discovered a real gem. The hotel, rooms, amenities, service, value and staff are the best on the island. I can't rave enough about the staff and how helpful they are in every way. In a word....amazing!

My family and I recently visited Avalon and stayed at Hotel Metropole. The location is perfect. Close to everything and easy to find. We entered through a walkway lined with cute shops and bakeries. It was quaint and lovely. The hotel was clean and the staff was amazing. We needed a pack and play for our toddler and it was... More

I recently went to Catalina and stayed at the Metropole Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. We got there on a Thursday morning around 11 am, but were unable to check-in until 2:30 pm. We were able to store our luggage at the hotel while we walked around and waited for our... More

I had the VIP room overlooking water. This room was gorgeous and very comfortable. You can see the management is very concerned with the most minute details from the type of soap and lotions (L'Occitane) to the over the top continental breakfast w organic fruits. They also had my favorite coffee, Coffee Bean. Friendly staff and beautiful courtyard w live... More
