The clerk, Connor, was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The elevator was the smallest elevator I remember ever being in, but it smelled nice. LOL! The room was very nice, very clean. The heater, however, was noisy and I had to find the silly plug behind the dresser so I could make a cup of tea. This... More

We stayed here (for the 2nd time) on our way to the sierras. Auburn is a good last-stop-before-leaving-civilization (i.e. where you can quickly shop for things you forgot). We stayed here before and were happy, and in general, happy this time too. Good: in the back buildings (like rm 242) very quiet. Good: the carpet must be new, it was... More

The front desk clerk was efficient and pleasant when I checked in and out. Apparently it makes a difference which building you stay in, based on what I read here. I was in the front building, but on the back side away from the freeway. There was little road noise, definitely nothing to disturb my slumber. The good: -Decent size... More

First Rm. in one of the separate buildings, no wifi working. Rm. 235 in main building was great in comparison, wifi, spacious clean bathroom with thick towels, comforter on bed, larger refrig, m/w, two negatives key wouldn't work in door, had to return to lobby for assistance and the window lock was broken and I had to stuff towels in... The outside of this hotel really needs some work. You might be tempted to drive by but don't. The front desk was very friendly. We stayed in Building 2 which looks like it has recently been updated. The carpets and walls were clean. The beds were firm but seemed new. We had a refrigerator, microwave and small coffee maker. The... More

I will start with the good. I had contact with 3 different front desk people and all 3 of them were friendly, courteous and helpful! And that is were the good ends. This Quality Inn is a Dump! From the room to the grounds, this place is DIRTY and poorly maintained. The bathroom was dirty - the toilet, the walls,... More

It was our first trip to Northern California, and I was a bit concerned about the high prices of decent motels, but this Quality Inn Gold, in Auburn changed my mind. For $62 (senior rate from the Choice Hotels web site), I got a very clean, small, but comfortable room, with all utilities working, including internet. I would definitely stay... More

Only $60 for a great clean room with bathroom towels, shampoo, etc. They had a decent free breakfast as well. Staff was friendly as well. Only problem was no wifi, which doesn't matter much because the room was cheap

We paid $72 (included taxes!!!) for a king room with a decent breakfast included so this is definitely a value. Tahoe/Truckee is expensive and we just wanted a place to stop to get closer and go to Northstar for the day (so as not to have to leave at 5am) so we weren't looking for anything fancy. Pluses: right off... More
