Our family and many friends stayed at the Carlton Hotel for my daughter’s destination wedding in Atascadero. The historical hotel is beautifully restored. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the bedding, pillows and linens are exceptional. The bathrooms are spacious as well as beautiful. The photos on the website do not do this hotel justice, it was even prettier in... More

We spent one night at The Carlton and it really was a pleasant surprise. This hotel and the town it's in could easily be overlooked with the competition from it's surrounding neighbours and frankly they were sold out when we passed through. This as it turns out worked in our favour as we enjoyed the friendly service, large comfortable room,... More

We needed to travel to Paso Robles for family business and couldn't get a hotel due to the Fair in town so we booked The Carlton in Atascadero 15 min away. What a pleasant surprise!! Beautiful, quiet hotel within walking distance to restaurants. Such a peaceful town. The rooms are very large with comfortable beds. Very tastefully decorated with a... More

From London, we really enjoyed the boutique hotel vibe, nice and quite. Great staff and this is slap bang in the middle of everything you need in Atascadero .....just around the corner there is a great wine tasting place called the barrel (I think) and next to that a delicious little bistro type place ...also forgotten the name ...fig and... We had tried to book a room for 3 nights and 3 people over on the coast but nothing was available so we looked inland and found the Carlton. A very pleasant surprise, the rates were much better, the room was about twice normal size, very comfortable beds and service. Highly recommended, would stay there again.

We were looking for a place to stay for a night after a visit to Hearst Castle. After checking out hotels in Paso Robles, I read reviews of the Carlton on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a shot. The hotel was about 45 minutes from Hearst Castle, but an easy drive with no traffic. The price for a... More

I stayed at this hotel during a side road trip up the coast. The hotel has a great classic feeling to it and were prompt to give us our room. There is parking across the street and free wifi. Our room was very cozy and had a nice bed. My favorite part was the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and... More

We were only in Atascadero for one night and rather than stay in a chain hotel, this place caught my eye. Am I glad it did! What a lovely and grand hotel in a convenient location. Upon check-in a tour bus had arrived just before us (an unusual event, I am told). When I noticed that my room was next... More

Overall a exquisite hotel!! It has an old "Victorian" feel to it mixed with Hollywood at the same time! The hotel staff is super friendly and so very helpful!! Plenty of room with a view of the balcony! The beds were so comfortable and definitely high quality with pressed sheets that feel so good when you get into them! The... More

Staying at this hotel was quite an experience. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable beds. The public rooms were very well decorated - full of charm and history. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed, so we had to go out for food. Maybe next time.
