Tom Bodett where are you? what a disappointing stay...hadn't stayed in a Motel 6 in years and being the last motel with rooms available for the weekend in Ft.Bragg, CA . First off our room wasn't ready upon arrival. We did make reservations on Wednesday. We had to ask for towels. The carpet floor was filthy ... what more needs... More

The front desk staff were friendly and tried to be helpful but that was the only good thing about this location. It was so bad here we ended up checking out and finding another place to stay. I know it's motel 6 and I'm not expecting much when I stay here but this place is terrible, even for a motel... More

I could hear people talking outside the room just as though the door was open, people were walking around outside early in the morning and the interment didn't work (they did refund our Internet charge) the staff was very friendly, the grounds were well kept. Would have liked a bathtub.

I like the Motel 6 chain but this one is not good. Good location but the room smelled so bad we had to open windows to air it out. I think the carpet was the problem, old damp looking and STINKY. I took a photo of the bathroom sink to send to the corporate headquarters, old and impossible to get... More

Needed a last minute hotel room in Arcata and this was my option since the nice Best Western was booked. I have stayed over the years at other Motel 6 hotels which were fine so no concerns. Front desk staff was nice, polite, efficient. And then everything went downhill from there. Property is clearly older and looks rough around edges.... More

The place is bad if not awful. We got a room with two queen beds but the room smelt so bad, that we did'nt want to stay there. We got another room without problems from the staff. It also had a smell but from som cleaning chemicals so we had to live with that as we arrived late after a... More

Bathroom floor was filthy and it smelled really smokey even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Beds and linin seemed new and clean. The staff was friendly. The neighborhood is a little rough though.

First, this is a motel not a hotel. An important difference to keep in mind. With a hotel you generally enter the lobby then take the stairs or elevator to enter your room off of an interior hallway. This keeps you somewhat protected from outside influences like weather and noise. A motel means that your room is entered from the... More

We arrived in Eureka / Arcata with no reservations on a week night and found much of the big name lodging sold out. Our drive that day had been long enough already, so we scrambled to find anything with a name. The first thing one notices in the lobby is the night time check in window with thick safety glass.... This is a typical Motel 6: no worse and not better really. The room was clean and everything worked fine in the room. Front counter staff was friendly and efficient. The motel is right next to US 101, which is a freeway in this area. I requested and got a room pretty far from US 101. But it was not... More
