The Arcata Hotel is celebrating its 100 year anniversary. A fun little place filled with lots of history and stories. Because its on the plaza, expect the evenings/nights to be loud if you have a window open. Room amenities are tired and they could really use updating.

Charming hotel! Yes, it is old and a little noisy, but very comfortable. Bring a hair dryer. Our room didn't have one. If you enjoy historic hotels and the feeling of nostalgia, this hotel is a wonderful place to stay.

I can't imagine that they are renting rooms out here to tourists, but then I have not really been around Arcata since the 70s and early 80s. But at that time the locals jokingly referred to this place as the 'Hotel California'; it was full of transients and hippies, sex, drugs rock and roll. I was a bartender at one... More

This is a cool historic hotel right on the plaza in Arcata. If you want to walk to restaurants, shops, and just hang out in this part of town, it's a great location. There is a lot of activity around, though, so if you don't like regular types of "city" noises, you might not like it. There are people down... More

Older hotel but nice if you like that sort of thing. Friendly, helpful staff. Wi-fi problems but staff was attentive to them. Control of the heat leaves a little to be desired. Get a room on the back as the plaza can be very noisy at night.

This is my first online review. Ever. I am compelled to let people know that this place is a big disappointment. Even though they didn't have the decency to ask me how our stay was, I let them know how I felt. It seemed to matter not to them. The manager said that "they try to let people know that... More

We chose the Arcata Inn ($124) for the type of authentic small town experience than you can't get at the Hwy 101 hotels (it is the only hotel on the square in downtown Arcata). Because it is a heritage inn, our room was small, but the tall ceilings and curved corners gave a sense of old world charm. The room... More

We arrived on a Saturday for a two night stay and left on Monday. It was third floor, queen size, standard room for the two of us overlooking the side street. We were greeted with the aroma of the sushi restaurant located in the foyer of the hotel. As we were checking in (about 5:30 pm) we noticed that the... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and it was lovely. The building is centrally located and our room looked out over the little town square. The bed was comfortable, the room and the building had a ton of character and was a joy to stay in. With that being said the size and quality of the room... More

Great location right in the middle of town. The restaurant below is really good too. It's an old hotel and it keeps that charm while adding a few modern amenities. Can be a little noisy on the street in the morning but you are in the middle of town.
