This is a cool historic hotel right on the plaza in Arcata. If you want to walk to restaurants, shops, and just hang out in this part of town, it's a great location. There is a lot of activity around, though, so if you don't like regular types of "city" noises, you might not like it. There are people down... More

Older hotel but nice if you like that sort of thing. Friendly, helpful staff. Wi-fi problems but staff was attentive to them. Control of the heat leaves a little to be desired. Get a room on the back as the plaza can be very noisy at night.

This is my first online review. Ever. I am compelled to let people know that this place is a big disappointment. Even though they didn't have the decency to ask me how our stay was, I let them know how I felt. It seemed to matter not to them. The manager said that "they try to let people know that... More

We chose the Arcata Inn ($124) for the type of authentic small town experience than you can't get at the Hwy 101 hotels (it is the only hotel on the square in downtown Arcata). Because it is a heritage inn, our room was small, but the tall ceilings and curved corners gave a sense of old world charm. The room... More

We arrived on a Saturday for a two night stay and left on Monday. It was third floor, queen size, standard room for the two of us overlooking the side street. We were greeted with the aroma of the sushi restaurant located in the foyer of the hotel. As we were checking in (about 5:30 pm) we noticed that the... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and it was lovely. The building is centrally located and our room looked out over the little town square. The bed was comfortable, the room and the building had a ton of character and was a joy to stay in. With that being said the size and quality of the room... More

Great location right in the middle of town. The restaurant below is really good too. It's an old hotel and it keeps that charm while adding a few modern amenities. Can be a little noisy on the street in the morning but you are in the middle of town.

My wife and I decided to stay one evening. The building is well preserved, with much original detail in hallways and rooms. Room on second floor facing the town square was large, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was clean with old style tub/etc. The front desk staff were capable. The hotel is within walking distance from much retail/commercial establishments in... More

I graduated from Humboldt State a few years ago and I always talked about this town so finally my husband said let's go! We came up for Hops in Humboldt and the first place I wanted to stay was the Hotel Arcata! It has a great central location on the plaza and is walking distance from tons of delicious restaurants... What a neat hotel. Form the lobby to the rooms, this place is charming and worth the stay. Parking is a bit nervous as you have to park on the street outside, but there were no problems. Really cool bathroom. If you have to go to Arcata, you have to stay here.
