My wife and I decided to stay one evening. The building is well preserved, with much original detail in hallways and rooms. Room on second floor facing the town square was large, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was clean with old style tub/etc. The front desk staff were capable. The hotel is within walking distance from much retail/commercial establishments in... More

I graduated from Humboldt State a few years ago and I always talked about this town so finally my husband said let's go! We came up for Hops in Humboldt and the first place I wanted to stay was the Hotel Arcata! It has a great central location on the plaza and is walking distance from tons of delicious restaurants... What a neat hotel. Form the lobby to the rooms, this place is charming and worth the stay. Parking is a bit nervous as you have to park on the street outside, but there were no problems. Really cool bathroom. If you have to go to Arcata, you have to stay here.

We really liked our 2-bedroom suite for $118, nice beds, clean and well-ventilated rooms, with large windows to rooftop equipment bearing a fun mural of the redwoods. The continental breakfast was a wide array of good muffins, OJ and good coffee, etc., and local papers. Noise? Sure, I mean, if you plan to stay in the center of Arcata you... More

After driving up the entire California coast, we had intensions of spending the night in Eureka. So glad we pushed forward and going this little gem.. Everything in our room was perfect.. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.. Can't wait to visit again sometime.. Additionally dinner in the sushi restaurant, was pleasant, relaxing and very reasonably priced..

This was the last available room in arcata the night we arrived. We ended up with a " business suite" a bedroom connected to another little room connected to a bathroom. Not sure what the little room was about. The location is great "on the plaza" and for a friday night it was quiet downtown. They have a good parking... More

You sort of get what you pay for at this hotel - for under $100 per night, the room was, although very old, clean. It has a nice historic charm to it, with clawfoot tub/shower and copper piping. We knew it would be loud - it is right in the square and next to several bars. knowing this, I asked... More

Clean, small friendly is the best way to capture my experience at this hotel. Yes, some parts are old and can use an upgrade (like the elevator carpet) but for some reason it seems right to give this hotel a pass. The place smell like a Sushi place (yes it does have a Sushi restaurant on the first floor) and... More

Me & my guy recently went on a road trip and our first night was spent at the Hotel Arcata. We didn't have a reservation, but had no trouble getting a room. The lady at the front desk was very nice & we went for a room with a view & it had a separate living room. This seems to... More

I enjoyed my stay here. My room was large, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had a rooftop bath and brass shower, which worked really well. The staff was helpful, and the hotel well kept. The room was a little noisy, but it's a noisy location, and I still slept very well. Arcata is an odd place, nice to look... More
