We stayed at Manresa Uplands State Beach campground with my family (5 adults, 3 kids under 5 yrs) in early October. We had a great time! Stayed in site 64, so we didn't have to walk too far from the unloading parking lot to camp. One thing that surprised me about this campground was that it was much more civilized... More

This was our first time at Manresa, so let me see if it would be helpful to disabuse others if they have the same misperceptions that I had. My caveat is that we went in late September 2015 so the camp was perhaps 2/3 full and the feel might be different when it's at capacity. First of all, you are... More

I took the family on a last minute camping trip and the Manresa State Beach campgrounds were perfect. It is close enough to the Bay Area (1 hour from San Jose) so it's not that far of a drive, yet just remote enough to get away from all of the craziness. Check-in was easy since I made reservations and it... More

We stayed in Willow Camp site #9 in August 2013. The thing you need to know about the Monterey Bay area is that even though it is blazing hot and sunny over in the Bay Area, it will probably be foggy and 20 degrees cooler at the ocean in August. Our site, #9, was overlooking the ocean, but it was... More

Campgrounds are nice, although some more trees around would help make the sites more private. Proximity of the beach is big and only plus point of this camp ground. Cannot drive straight to the campsite for unloading. A short or a long walk depending on your camp site to loading/unloading zone can be deal breaker for some. Toilets are clean.

The location of this campground is beautiful and if you are camping with a group of 20 relatives who can drown out the wild screaming from another group of 20 camping together in a campsite located 3 feet away from yours, you will probably enjoy camping at Manresa campground. The hot showers are nice but because there are so many... More

First time camping here and loved it for beach camping. You do need to haul stuff to your campsite with only a 20 min drop off point and a little hike to park your car overnight. Advantage, no cars/lights driving by the sites all night long. This lends itself to really hear the ocean/waves at night. Disadvantage - getting all... More

We stayed here as part of a Northern California road trip. The spot was very nice. This is a quiet campground. You cannot drive your car to the site. You park in an unloading zone. Then park overnight further up. This was fine as I knew it ahead of time, but I think I prefer to have my car near... More

Stayed here during our fly-drive tour of California Jul/Aug 2008. Arrived late and left early so didn't even get as far as the beach, however the camp ground was great and the shower facilities well looked after. Beautiful location and wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended. We also stayed at San Simeone State Park, Point Mugu State Park... More
