if for no other reason that location you need to stay here. I mean don't even waste your time looking at other options. the hotel is within Downtown Disney, has private entrance to Adventure Park and is a 2 min stroll to Disneyland. For that reason alone I think Disneyland is better than Disneyworld... we have two small children that... More

With its proximity to Disneyland I thought the staff would be more knowledgeable of park activities and prepared for peak hours. For example when I called to see if I could see the fireworks show from my room I was told no but that was incorrect. When I called for roomservice I waited on hold for over 10 minutes just... More

This was the first time I stayed here. The hotel is gorgeous, and staff are absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately our room was not in top shape: the sliding door to the balcony would not lock because of a broken fitting, and all of the beautiful craftsman style light fixtures were askew, as if someone had been throwing a large ball around... At the end of the day what you are paying for at this hotel is location, and if that is all you care about, then go ahead and book it. The problem comes when you want a little more than location for the price you are paying. I have stayed in 5 star luxury hotels for a lot less $$$... More

This is a beautiful hotel decorated in the style of the grand days of California's past. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and bedding, TV, DVD player and a small refrigerator. The bathrooms are large with the toilet and tub in a separate room from the double sinks. The balcony of ours had a beautiful pool view. The... More

The room was very comfortable. I slept like a rock and didn't want to get up. The rooms are very clean. The bell hopes where a little rude. Make sure you have lots of money to eat at the restaurants because they are not cheap. But you are close to other place to eat. My family and I had a... More

We love this hotel. Everything from the Lobby, pool, rooms, atmosphere and especially at Christmas. We use the hotels private access next to 'Storytellers Cafe' for California Adventure for fast access to Cars Land. Breakfast at 'Storytellers' is a must. Hotel check-in is easy, with a welcome package with signed pictures from 4 characters as we were celebrating one of... More

Nothing wrong with the property, but wish I had saved a ton of money staying elsewhere. At almost $600/ night they raised the expectation bar too high for any place to reach, I suppose. I wish we had stayed at a 4 star property and simply taken transportation to and from the park.

Stayed for 2 nights over MLK weekend, and paid the full price. Got to our room after a very long day in the park to discover we had been given a room with a queen bed and bunk beds. There was no indication of a weight limit on the bunk bed. Called the front desk to inquire about the weight... More

We were at the Grand Californian for the Star Wars Half Marathon. We are frequent Disney World guest but we didn't know what to expect for a Disneyland trip. If you are in a similar situation I would totally recommend the Grand Californian. The hotel itself is very similar to the Wilderness Lodge, including the lobby and the resort layout.... More
