We recently stayed at the Imperial Hotel. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. We loved the fact that this room was up the hill from the hotel and it was private. There is a lovely porch on the front of the room that allows you to look over Amador City. There were wild turkeys in the yard and that is... More

I appreciate the feedback from this guest -- both the compliments and the constructive criticisms. We are always receptive to concerns expressed by our guests and encourage them to let us know if anything is amiss or if we could be doing something to make their stay more enjoyable. A few comments on the issues raised regarding the room: We... More

My husband and I and our good friends just returned from a two night stay at The Imperial Hotel. If you enjoy historic hotels and towns, this is the place to be. Our room had everything we needed. Wonderful towels, linens and comfy bed. We also enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching the world go by in this sleepy... More

Stayed two nights while we toured gold mining towns on front range. Nice central location with plenty to do in surrounding area. Pleasantly surprised by nice wineries just minutes away. Ate in restaurant both nights. Wonderful food and great wine list (inexpensive as well.) Mary Ann was friendly and gave wonderful touring advice. Staff all excellent. We stayed in Room... More

This hotel is beautiful! The lobby is so nice, our room was great, the restaurant was AMAZING (literally the best food my husband and I have ever eaten), and it was close to shops. My one and only complaint is the the car park is so far away (it was a bit confusing to get back). Everything else was fabulous!

Just returned froma 5 night stay at the Imperial and would recommend it to anyone. We plan to go back with friends in the very near future. We enjoyed the entire staff, especially the owner who put up with lost keys and any number of stange occurances with great humor and calm assurance. We were in the cottage (#9) which... More

We were looking for a relaxing couple of days in the California countryside during a driving tour of the state and chanced upon this hotel while searching online. We couldn't have been more happy that we did. Amador City was founded during the gold rush and is the second smallest incorporated city in California. It's a blink-and-you'd-miss-it kind of place,... Our stay at the Imperial Hotel was overall very good. We booked room #9 which is across the street from the Hotel. The jacuzzi tub for two was really big enough for two! The queen bed was comfy and decor was nice. I guess shabby chic would cover it. We ate dinner at the hotel our first night. The food... More

We were worried after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, but decided to take a chance anyway. We always have loved Amador City. What a great decision. We visited on a Thursday evening in July during Amador City's Wine tasting night. After visiting the many small shops, all hosting different wineries we settled in for dinner at the Imperial Hotel.... More

I wanted to love this place but the bed (in Room #6) was unbelievably uncomfortable - old, springy mattress and cheap pillows. I was also put off right from the get-go by the owner and another employee sitting in the lobby literally watching us struggle up the stairs with our luggage immediately after check-in. Not even a cursory offer to... More

I have never stayed at such an unfriendly hotel/B&B, bad customer service. Infact she, the owner was down right rude. We had some problems checking in because of an old giftcertificate. When we called to make the reservation we told her we had a gift certificate, we gave her the number and she told us it was old but they... More

I have to admit that these guests may have required more patience than I was able to provide to them during their stay, but I think their review is too one-sided. The gentleman's initial request was for a single night stay on a Saturday during October, one of our busiest months. We have a two-night minimum policy on weekends, but... More
