Awesome Hotel in California's smallest city. Room 1 was perfect, with a door leading out to the balcony overlooking the beautiful town. Happened to be "locals night" the day we arrived, so enjoyed live music, wine and appetizers on the patio out front. Excellent staff, especially Peter, the General Manager - very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Had an... More

My wife and I have been staying here about once a year for the past 10 years and have always enjoyed our stay. The hotel has six rooms, all comfortable, but rooms 1 and 2 are our favorites. They have their own access to the balcony, which is a great place to sit, share a bottle of wine, and watch... More

We have stayed here before and came back because the place is so nice. We staying in the "Cottage" across the street - it was SOOOO romantic, a gas fired stove in the corner of the bedroom, canopied bed, DVD player (no cable) and a huge closet, refridgerator, Enormous bathroom with heated towel rack, big fluffy terry robes, and a... This is a lovely old hotel with restaurant and bar. Staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Peter who seemed to do everything the night we stayed. The night we were there they had a wine tasting with pizza sticks and popcorn. Tasting was related to winemakers dinner they were having the following weekend. Met several locals who came in... Our recent stay at the Imperial Inn was delightful. We found out at the last minute that they were having a Wine Maker's dinner and what fun! It was a 5 coarse meal with 7 wines paired (3 with the main coarse) all of which were amazing! The rooms were well cared for and comfortable. The staff very friendly and... More

This charming and cozy, but not fancy, hotel is situated in the middle of California's historic gold country. It is easily accessible from Sacramento and not far from Kirkwood ski area. Near historic and natural attractions. Dinner was thoroughly excellent and breakfasts more than met our expectations and dietary needs/restrictions. Our favorite room is #4 which is on the quiet... This is my 3rd trip to this hotel. I've stayed in 3 different rooms and have to say room 2 is my favorite even though we stayed in room 1 this time. Both room 1&2 have balconies. The rooms are decorated as If we were in the 1800's with some modern touches. The bathrooms are updated and clean. The beds... More

We arrived with high hopes and excited to rent one of their suites which is located off site. It was the honeymoon suite that we wanted to rent for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a huge disappointment. The place was unkept, dirty, dingy, had a musty smell and we were just really sad it wasn't more special. The food... More

The Imperial makes you feel like you are at home! It is cozy and the beds are very comfortable. This place is great for a quiet weekend away. It has a great restaurant downstairs. We enjoyed the morning coffee outside of our room and the breakfast. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

TINY TOWN THAT WAS DELIGHTFUL! We spent 2 nights in Amador City in room 9 of the garden cottage, an annex of the Imperial Hotel B & B. The suite was clean and comfortable with a small refrigerator. It was pleasant having the privacy of our own little porch. There was no wifi in the cottage, so we took our... More
