My wife and I easily fell into the charms of the silence, character and soul of Fensalden. We were attending the April Summer Kamp of Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone so we were gone most of the days in retreat but we always felt we were coming home at night. Lyn and Bob the hosts are very charming and welcoming... more

It's hard to say what was best about staying at Fensalden. Here's the list of reasons we recommend this place, and plan to go back: the helpful, welcoming owners, the gorgeous ocean views, the complimentary in-room wine and comfy robes, the in-room fireplace, the gourmet breakfasts, the wine hour, it's proximity to both the Anderson Valley wine country and all... more

March 2008 was my third time to stay at Fensalden Inn and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time when my daughter surprised me with roundtrip tickets, at the end of December 2005, for myself and her, after my husband passed away in September 2005. That week was just what we needed together. Bob and Lyn... more

We were married in SF in September and drove up to Fensalden for the weekend. It couldn't have been better. The Tower Suite was gorgeous (we loved the fireplace on the cool nights), the food was excellent, and our host and hostess very welcoming, completely with a thoughtful note and bottle of champagne. :) They also pointed us to a... more

Staying at the Fensalden Inn was one of the best BnB experiences I have ever had. Our room was so cozy with a wood burning fireplace, and brilliant views. The breakfasts were to die for, everything made from scratch. The jams and sauces were mouth watering. And happy hour in the afternoons was a delight - we talked and watched... more

My husband and I had a wonderful overnight stay at the Fensalden Inn. As we were the only guest that night, we toured all the rooms. Every room was filled with antique furniture, a gas fireplace and had a nice bathroom. Our room had a door that opened to its own porch and in the morning we lay in our... more

We stayed in the Headlands room. We had a lovely view of the grounds and small, distant view of the ocean. Our room was small, along with our bed - it's more like a double, not a queen like their website suggests. The inn is a little far from the Mendocino scene and people, but it's a nice getaway if... more

We stayed at the Fensalden Inn because of the wonderful reviews on tripadvisor. Unfortunately we were disappointed. I hate to say anything negative about Fensalden Inn because Lyn and Bob are the nicest hosts but I have to give a dose of reality to the other reviews. We stayed in the cottage and for $200/night, we should have had a... more

The Fensalden was just wonderful. This was our first B&B experience and it was a great one. Bob greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a tour with wonderful stories. Breakfast was just devine. Do not pass it up. It was different each day and so wonderful. The area is nice. The ducks and goats are a great addition,... more
