Agree with another reviewer here that with some investment, this could be a very good place. There were enough overseas tourists at the place (ourselves included) to suggest its location is a winner. Yes it's very very tired, but the shower worked well, the wifi was fast, breakfast okay, and beds comfortable. Good kitchen but no crockery, or cutlery. But... More

I needed a place for one night. All they had available was a suite. I figured, OK the place is full, it must be nice. Wrong! After getting over the initial "price shock", I went up to the room. At first glance it looked very 1970's but I was tired so I went down and got my things. I went... More

Stayed here for one night while our apartment was being treated with chemicals. It was more expensive than the reputable chains in the area but was the closest to home. It was very, very dirty. My daughters feet were black within minutes of checking in. The bath tub was too dirty to use and the room smelled musty, The furnishings... More

We stayed here for two nights; we mainly chose this area because it's closer to Six Flags and also it is cheaper than the hotels in San Fran. The area is not bad, close to a beach and the view is nice. Across the hotel is this plaza with shops and restaurants (lots of variety). The room comes with a... More

My family and I stayed here for three nights in mid July. As we were travelling around California with two small kids we wanted something affordable with cooking facilities. The Coral Reef Inn ticked those boxes. Beforehand I did read many reviews about the hotel and have to say I was worried. However I decided to give it the benefit... More

They advertise "on lagoon, across from beach.ʻ Well, not quite accurate, but guess itʻs better than across from bowling alley and apartment complex...(the beach is a block away We checked into our "deluxe" suite with kitchenette and climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor (no elevator - no problem). We walked into the spacious suite and it smelled musty. OK,... More

Carpet was filthy. No elevator, so had to haul luggage up stairs. Mattress was well worn & you rolled to center when trying to sleep. Faucet in kitchen dripped & kept me awake. Only cold food for "continental" breakfast". Only good comments: staff were friendly & bathroom appeared clean.

Trying to cancel my reservation 72 hours in advance and Coral Reef Inn and Suites won't let me! I am booked to check-in 7/19 at 3pm and the email confirmation says I have until 7/16/15 to cancel. (From email "Cancel/Modify By Date: 07/16/2015") Their management and hotel reservation system say I had until 12:01 AM on the 16th!!! Yes, 1... More

Vey eclectic. Bare bones older motel-like. No elevator. families with Children would find this excellent. Very close to Alameda, next door to a bowling ally. walk across the street to a nice mall. Near the Bay. The pool is nice and in the center of the complex surrounded by the two story motel. Lots of grass in the center for... More

Two young children and 3 adults in our group. One bedroom, living room, kitchen unit. Not ready for us at check in time of 4:00 -- had to wait an additional 1 1/2 hours. Carpet was so soiled that by the time freshly bathed kids walked from bathroom to living room their feet were actually black. Kids slept on pullout... More
