We stayed seven nights in a lagoon apartment in november. This hotel is way too worn down to be operational and should be completely renovated. We did not have any bed bugs or other critters, something we feared when facing the condition of the hotel. The rooms are big and fairly clean and the cleaning staff is probably struggling quite... Just do yourself a favor and keep shopping. They refuse to allow early check in, and it is extremely dated. By extremely dated, I mean this place has not seen a refresh since at least 1985. They advertise updated rooms, but this really does just mean that you get a new comforter. Just remember that 1980s decor usually means a... More

Coral Reef is an older property. The size of the room is big with two queen beds and a kitchenette included with a miniature fridge and stove. The painted cabinets look like they were from the 50's or 60's. The room had free WiFi internet. The room was clean, definitely older but comfortable. The beds were ok. The room came... More

When i read the reviews for this place i was skeptical because of mix reviews, but i have to say this is a nice hotel for under 100 in the bay area. The area is safe, we never fear for our lives, is a little outdated but good for a 69dls per night. The location is perfect only 35 minutes... More

I made a reservation here for a business trip. My trip changed so I needed to modify the date. There was no place on their web site to modify a reservation so I called the reservation phone number. When I advised the lady I needed to change the date on my reservation she advised me there would be a 20%... More

If I could I would give this hotel a -10. When we opened the door on our arrival the overpowering smell of deoderizing spray was so bad that we had to open the windows, and doors for an hour just to be able to breath. The guest towels had threads hanging from them but they were clean. Make sure you... More

We mainly chose this hotel due to the price and location. I didn't have a car for one day, so it was a bit inconvenient having to take a bus or taxi from the Bart station. The young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous. The young man there on one of the days was equally nice.... More

Our suite at the Coral Reef was nice. It was a bit odd though. It had a full kitchen but nothing that would allow one to use the kitchen. There was only one plate and one set of silverware.. Nothing else. No pots, pans, utensils of any kind. Just that one service, a coffee maker, and paper cups. It did... More

We have stayed here before, as there aren't many motels in Alameda. The staff is always helpful, and the location is good - a half-block from San Francisco Bay and a mall with grocery stores and a pharmacy. Not far from downtown Alameda, which is very vibrant. Crime is practically non-existent. Those are the plusses. The Coral Reef is going... More

The rooms are not nearly as clean as the pictures indicate. The carpets and curtains were stained and the room had an odor. However, it was the size of a one bedroom apartment with full kitchen. The sofabed only slept one, although we had 2 kids who had to share it. Needs cleaning and updating and more pillows on the... More
