One a four day business trip I had several significant room maintenance issues including a heater that would only heat to 85 degrees or nothing and a first floor window that would not close. The ultimate service failure was my final night.....no one had serviced my room by 5 PM. The place isn't fancy, but it was extremely convenient to... More

They mistakenly gave us a smoking room while we booked a non-smoking room. So the staff gave us a much bigger room in stead. The view of the lake is great! The room is ok. Everything is a little old, but I think it's acceptable overall. There's no elevator so if traveling with large luggage a room on the first... More

I reviewed this hotel last year at around this time. I come up to Alameda often from Southern California to visit my family in Alameda. Since last year, I've stayed there another THREE times. I gave the hotel 5 stars last time, explaining all the problems, but pointing out all the big pluses as well. So here I am again.... More

I feel lousy giving any place a bad review, but this hotel was really shabby. I had stayed there years ago and it was a bit shabby then, but I was younger and didn't care as much, and the hotel was younger and was in somewhat better condition. There is so much potential for it to be nicer, and the... More

We stayed seven nights in a lagoon apartment in november. This hotel is way too worn down to be operational and should be completely renovated. We did not have any bed bugs or other critters, something we feared when facing the condition of the hotel. The rooms are big and fairly clean and the cleaning staff is probably struggling quite... Just do yourself a favor and keep shopping. They refuse to allow early check in, and it is extremely dated. By extremely dated, I mean this place has not seen a refresh since at least 1985. They advertise updated rooms, but this really does just mean that you get a new comforter. Just remember that 1980s decor usually means a... More

Coral Reef is an older property. The size of the room is big with two queen beds and a kitchenette included with a miniature fridge and stove. The painted cabinets look like they were from the 50's or 60's. The room had free WiFi internet. The room was clean, definitely older but comfortable. The beds were ok. The room came... More

When i read the reviews for this place i was skeptical because of mix reviews, but i have to say this is a nice hotel for under 100 in the bay area. The area is safe, we never fear for our lives, is a little outdated but good for a 69dls per night. The location is perfect only 35 minutes... More

I made a reservation here for a business trip. My trip changed so I needed to modify the date. There was no place on their web site to modify a reservation so I called the reservation phone number. When I advised the lady I needed to change the date on my reservation she advised me there would be a 20%... More

If I could I would give this hotel a -10. When we opened the door on our arrival the overpowering smell of deoderizing spray was so bad that we had to open the windows, and doors for an hour just to be able to breath. The guest towels had threads hanging from them but they were clean. Make sure you... More
