The rooms are not nearly as clean as the pictures indicate. The carpets and curtains were stained and the room had an odor. However, it was the size of a one bedroom apartment with full kitchen. The sofabed only slept one, although we had 2 kids who had to share it. Needs cleaning and updating and more pillows on the... More

We booked a room via Orbitz and even called the hotel to confirm the room, which they DID, but when we went to check in, they "mysteriously" had no record of our reservation. The unhelpful man at the front desk refused to honor our confirmed reservation. We suspect it was denied because we had booked at a discounted price, but... More

Every picture tells a story or so they say and this certainly did. The ad showed the hotel overlooking a lagoon, which some of it did, but the rest was rather like a fifties holiday camp. The rooms were very dated and needed refreshing, although it was clean thank goodness. Won't be going back.

These are crooks. I Booked this hotel for 4 nights with time ahead with a good deal. But in August the price goes up. These thieves have given my room to another person for a higher price. Well guess what time they decided to inform me, after 12.30 pm of the day before that I'm supposed to check in. By... More

This is a return stay, having stayed for two nights in Oct. '11 when I paid 72/nite studio (tax included). Due to a coupon, luck and timing my stay this time was 56/nite (tax included) for a quiet one-bedroom apt.-style room located well away from the Bowling Alley and pool. STAY AWAY from the Bowling Alley NOISE. I was here... More

We chose the Coral Reef Inn because the price was much more reasonable than the hotels in San Francisco. The downside was the drive into SF. Although it's not too far, we encountered delays at the toll booth at the Bay Bridge which increased our travel time. It took us 45 min to get to SF on a Friday morning.... More

We were attending a friend's wedding in Alameda, and Coral Reef was a less-than-10-minute drive to the wedding location. I was slightly skeptical seeing some of the mixed reviews, but the service and our room were fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly (even allowing us to print off tickets to an event on their front desk computers), our room was... More

I originally booked a suite, but when we arrived the staff realized that the room we had been assigned had a non functioning pull-out couch, which we would need to use. So they offered us 2 options, another suite, or a room with 2 beds facing the water. We opted for the water-view, and were happy to find that the... More

We selected Coral Reef because our relatives live nearby. Unfortunately some lingering odour greeted us when we walked into the room. Changed room and it is still the same. Had to sleep with sliding door open. Very pricey at approx $130 per night. Stairway, furnishings, beddings, carpet, bathroom fittings are outdated and dirty. I will rate this place a mere 1... More

I had read many reviews good and bad and decided to chance it because the price was right. I am not a hotel snob. I regularly stay in 3 star, resonably priced hotels.I booked a 6 night stay, and prepaid, unfortunately. On the outside, things looked fine. Entering the room, was totally different. Filthy carpet, beds that looked like a... More
