My husband and I have been staying at the Tal Wi Wi Lodge in Alpine, AZ for many years. Our first stay was probably back in the mid '90's when the place was VERY rustic, with squeaky metal spring beds, no TV or phone and wi fi wasn't invented - but there was peace and quiet and solitude. There have... More

We try to stay at Tal Wi Wi Lodge at least once a year, but this might be the last time. We loved Tal Wi Wi for the peace and quiet and the lack of modernization, now there are TV's, WiFi, and a small gym. (the old restaurant ) Traffic was in and out from 6am to 8pm, and don't... More

We stayed for a night over Mother's Day weekend, and had dinner at the lodge. We had a poor dining experience, and when we notified the manager, rather than being apologetic or empathetic, she basically scolded us. Our food, including the appetizer, took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive. With two young children at our table, this was especially... More

We arrived here around 7pm after a long drive from Scottsdale AZ through the Apache Trail. We pulled up and went inside to see if there were any rooms available. The place was very quiet (out of season), with just 1 lady working, and 1 man propping up the bar. The friendly manager chatted with us and checked us into... More

I was lucky enough to get a room here one night after someone else had just cancelled. I was so pleased as the moment I drove up the road I desperately wanted to stay. The location is just beautiful - deer in the fields opposite, pine trees all around, logs all over the place! Just beautiful. The staff were very... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights in Aug at Tal-Wi-Wi. Our camper is not operating but we wanted to escape the heat and thought we'd "splurge" on an actual hotel/motel of sorts. First the good things...the location was wonderful, the staff friendly. The new saloon/restaurant was beautiful with a big deck overlooking the meadow across the road. The Friday... More

We agree with most of your comments, both positive and negative. When we purchased the lodge, we understood it was old and in need of serious updating. We are in a seven year plan to accomplish this. We have completed the remodel of the saloon, and your positive comments seems to reflect that we did a good job. This fall/winter... More

We stayed here and loved it!! Nice room with a wood burning stove which was real cozy on a chilly night! We also had a nice dinner and a good breakfast at their restaurant! We can't wait to come back!!!

This is an awesome place to visit with a group. My Harley Owners Group chapter came up here for an overnight ride and it was awesome! The rooms are comfortable, the price is right, there's a great restaurant and bar, and where else can you wake up and watch the elk try and push over your bike?

I've stayed here several times now and usually don't make a decision until I experience how a place is kept up. This Lodge has it all, great rooms, great resturant, great area, great saloon and by far the best staff headed by the owner. The people in Alpine, AZ are very friendly and seem to stay close to one-another and... More

The Tal-Wi-Wi is a beautifully located lodge nestled amongst the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest near the small mountain community of Alpine, Arizona. We had already booked a room in Alpine, but decided to stay here since this place was so much nicer. The owners and management are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.... More
