For over $330 (that includes $36 overnight parking) we got a large room, a very tiny bathroom with two towels and no in-room coffee pot that is found in any other hotel I've ever stayed in. We took the train up from Richmond and spent the night at the Hotel Madera. We arrived very early (around 11) and were checked in quickly and with no fuss. We stayed six nights at the Hotel Madera on the top (tenth) floor in a deluxe king room. Very roomy, very comfortable, nice view out to Georgetown and excellent AAA rate. We try to stay at Kimpton hotels whenever possible. Got a fabulous rate of $70/night via Priceline. The staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. The room (#409) was very spacious, though it did not have a balcony. The toilet and shower are in one room, the sink in another area. The bathing area was a little tight, but certainly manageable. more
