I used this hotel many times for business meeting and when staying in DC on business. This weekend I surprised my wife with a birthday trip to the city and had booked three nights at the Beacon. We were assigned what I consider a European room at best, Room 205. Tiny bathroom with no hooks to hang anything, tiny and... More

This is really more of a long-term stay hotel by design. There is a small kitchen with a stove and refrigerator. The bathroom was nice and big with a closet area to hang clothes. The bathtub and showerhead were outdated. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. There is a restaurant in the hotel as well as a bar. I... More

The Beacon is a well maintained, mid-range business hotel. The room rates are generally good value. Be sure to negotiate for free wifi when you book. The location is central, near Dupont Circle and the major think tanks It's less than a 15 minute walk to the White House. A bit longer to get to the Washington Monument or Georgetown.... More

The staff at the Beacon were rude and unpleasant. Our room included YMCA passes that were never given, only businessmen were offered umbrella, a cab, or had the door held open. Worst hotel in D.C.!!!!

We chose this hotel for its location first and price second as we wanted to be able to run to and around the Mall (It is a 6ish mile run btw from the hotel to the White House, to the Mall, to Lincoln Memorial, up to the Capitol, and back, just in case you are interested). We got a great... More

The room is comfy and clean bit lacks basics like chairs and mini fridge. The price was right until I added in the daily parking and wifi. Wow, I could have gotten a really good hotel for the same total price.

Overall our stay here was good. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff and service were friendly and did their best to ensure a pleasant stay. Overall this is a good hotel with a good location to all of the monument of DC. However be warned the Wifi is not free at this hotel and they charge a ridiculous... More

I opted for this hotel over the Capitol Hilton because it was about half the price. Although it was farther from my meeting site, it was clean, comfortable and a good option. Room was no-frills, but nice.

When I booked my room I did not noticed the valet parking fee. As I remember the valet parking is $33, which Is very expensive. The receptionist was not friendly when I asked him if I could park my car on the street. In addition the music from outside of the building was very loud after 10pm. The hotel staff... More

i stayed here because I like the St. Gregory and this was closer to my client. It doesn't have the same quality of service as the St. Gregory but the rooms are similar. (Front desk was a bit chaotic at check in and I had to correct charges on check out.) Clean, comfortable, quiet. Internet was flawless and fast, but... More
