Arrived here in late summer, wether is hot, maybe too hot to walk all over. This hotel is good but not special. It does all the right things and there are reasonable restaurants nearby. Very clost to the White House if that is what you came to see. Otherwise rail or cab it.

The Capital Hilton is located downtown and is a typical Hilton property. It is convenient and a short walk to several monuments and museums. The restaurant can get pretty pricey, but that's to expect for downtown D.C. However, if you're looking to save some money, book your trip for the weekend if possible. The rates are much cheaper on the... More

This is definitely a good property, but I don't think it is a good tourist property. If you are on vacation, I recommend you stay a little out of the center of town, and rely on the Metro (subway) to get around. You will save a lot of money. The rooms are clean, service is friendly, and the staff is... More

I am staying at Hilton after about a year though this is my first time at Capital Hilton. I didn't remember Hilton's service being slow and the rooms feeling so bare. My impression was they are cutting costs in many places. On the first night there were no soap and bath mat. I called and waited for about an hour... More

I booked a weekend at the Capital Hilton in August through hotwire and got a good price. Both nights my family and I were awakened between 11:30 pm and 3:30 am several times by a party a few rooms over. I think the hotel becomes party central on weekends. If you're looking for a quiet place to sleep, look elsewhere.... More

Was passing through Washington DC, and was able to get a summer weekend rate at the Capital Hilton. This Hilton is a refurbished classic building, originally constructed in the 1940's. The refurbishment is up to Hilton brand standards, with a beautiful, palatial lobby area, and professionally furnished rooms. It's "elegant" without being too over-the-top. Being an older facility, rooms are... More

I stayed for three nights on a business trip. The location was convenient for sightseeing in the evenings and dining in the area. This was one of the 12 hotels in the Statler hotel chain of the 1930s, which was bought out by Hilton and this is the last one that is still owned and operated by Hilton. The interior... More

I stayed there for 2 days to explore Washington's monuments and the Cherry blossom Festival and it was the right choice! Ok - the room was nice and clean but a little bit "vintage", the bed was excellent, the bathroom and especially the doors need some remodeling. Don't talk about the few from the windows - just walls - but... More

I only stayed at the Capital Hilton for one night while in DC as part of a business trip, but that one night generated more than a few grumbles. First, the room. It was clean and adequate, but it had one of the worst views ever -- the wall of another side of the building. It was also a little... More

We had a great stay at the Capital Hilton - the room was nice (not upscale, but above an average hotel room somewhere else), and clean. I did the bed bug check and found nothing. Parking at the hotel is expensive - park off-site. It's a very short 2-block walk to The White House, and close to the McPherson Square... More
