We stayed in Washington D.C. for five days. We were there for sightseeing, and this hotel is in the perfect location! It is only about five blocks from the National Mall which was perfect for us. The nearest Metro station is Foggy Bottom which is about six blocks. Walking was not a problem because the State Plaza is located in... more

My family came into Washington DC for one night. We knew it would be a layover stay with a very small amount of sight seeing. The State Plaza was amazing! I'm sure everyone hears that DC isn't the safest of cities to stay in if you don't know where you're going. The State Plaza was in a great location. We... more

I stayed here for a business trip that turned into a family vacation (with hubby and 11-year-old). We had room 315, a suite with kitchenette (stovetop, fridge, microwave, utensils), large dining/living combo with queen size sofabed, decent bath, large bedroom. Amenities were good (free wired internet in rooms, free wireless in meeting room), restaurant had limited menu, but food was... more

Booked this hotel directly through their website in April - 24 hour cancellation policy - then on a whim I checked orbitz 3 days before my trip (through TA website) - found the price had gone down about $150 so I cancelled original res and rebooked - but before that, I did a quick search for Orbitz Coupns on the... more

This hotel is fantastic. It offers all you need for luxury in a hotel room with free internet connection and a gym. There is only one problem, location. Even though it is in a good position for sight seeing it does not have many restaurants or eating houses nearby. Georgetown are the nearest about 15mins. walk away. The hotel does... more

The location alone would have made booking a room here worth the money we paid. The hotel is 3-4 blocks from the Old Executive Office Building, with the White House just around the corner... However, the rooms were also incredibly comfortable. For us they were suite-style, with a large bedroom, with a full kitchen, bathroom and small room to separate... more

My husband and I stayed in room 124 for 3 nights (Fri to Sun) in early May. I was coming down for business and we tacked on a weekend for personal time. The hotel room was huge - king bed, dresser, closet, desk in the main room. Powder room, bathroom and kitchen with small table and chairs. The bed was... more

I picked this hotel on line for our trip. Our High school band was coming to march in the Memorial Day Parade. Right in the heart of DC, walking distance to alot of sites or the metro stop a few blocks away. The staff was courteous and friendly. Saved my parents on parking, told them street parking was free when... more

This place was definitely affordable for DC and we made our reservations for Memorial Day weekend a few days prior to our stay and were surprised at the rate we were able to get! The only quibble I have is that someone at the front desk told us that parking was $25 over the phone, but when we got there,... more

The reasonable prices and my wife's previous experience there brought us to the State Plaza. We didn't expect luxury but we were pleased with our comfortable, quiet room (#207). The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The central heating had been turned off so the room was a bit chilly, but the staff promptly provided us with a... more
