The State Plaza is at the edge of the George Washington University campus where I was attending a conference. It’s ideal for GWU but it’s also close to the Foggy Bottom (orange and blue) Metro station. If you find a good price at the State Plaza, I’d recommend it for DC tourists or business travelers. The hotel is fairly easy... more

I agree with all the other positive reviews that say how close the hotel is to major tourist points of interest. You are 2 blocks up from Constitution Avenue which constitutes the Washington Mall. The beds were comfortable with crisp, clean linens, and 4 very large fluffy pillows on each bed. The dressing room is charming; nice to have a... more

This hotel is conveniently located on the E Street near the Red Cross HQ (another entrance on F Street also), fully surrounded by the GWU buildings. Rooms are typical for suite hotels, large, pleasant, having a nice and fully equipped kitchen plus a nice "powder room" near the bathroom. Breakfast is available with omelets, sausages, pastry, cream cheese, yoghurt and... more

I stayed here for a business trip that turned into a family vacation (with hubby and 11-year-old). We had room 315, a suite with kitchenette (stovetop, fridge, microwave, utensils), large dining/living combo with queen size sofabed, decent bath, large bedroom. Amenities were good (free wired internet in rooms, free wireless in meeting room), restaurant had limited menu, but food was... more

The State Plaza is a converted apartment building (actually 2 different buildings). The preferred rooms seem to be in "first" building, as they have a wonderful view of the Capital and the Washington Monument. The rooms are all suites, and have a nice, comfortable feeling. The kitchens are what you would expect in a student apartment, but I didn't use... more

The hotel is nice, clean and the rooms are large. I enjoyed the fact that it is a suite, although I was only there one night. It had a cute "powder room" with an old fashioned vanity attached to the bath, a full kitchen and a nice sized room. I would have really been glad to have the kitchen had... more

My husband and I drove from New York state to stay the weekend for a show. The hotel has 2 'entrances' and you have to get to the right one before you can do anything. We had to walk all the way through an alley and through both hotels to get checked in. (We had to go back and forth... more

When we arrived the air condioning wasn't on in the main room (we had a Jr suite which was a BR,Bath, LR with pullout sofa and kitchen.) they had to come and... more

This is a good place to stay if you are looking for a basic place to sleep between meetings or sightseeing. It's well worth the cost if you can catch a daily deal around $100. Rooms were adequately clean, shower amenities were high-quality, water pressure was excellent, and linens were clean and refreshed daily. The television was small and without... more
