I really enjoyed my stay at the River Inn. The staff were really friendly, which was important to me as a lone traveller. The room was beautiful with a lovely bed and loads of facilities including the coffee beans and grinder I was so looking forward to. The toiletries were top class and I loved the dressing gown. This is right at the cusp of Foggy Bottom and Georgetown and a block from GW University. Great rooms, kitchenette with pots, pans, plates, coffee beans and grinder, wifi, desk, flat screen. You get the picture. Close to DuPont Circle and anything you would need with free bicycles for the trail. more

The hotel is a 3 min walk to the metro... the people at the front desk were very helpful with everything... the room was nice the kitchen was a bonus, but didn’t eat at the restaurant in the hotel.... The location of this hotel is amazing, 5 mins walk to Georgetown and 20 mins to White House through University grounds. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. Stayed at the River Inn for a long weekend recently. While the hotel appears to have been renovated in recent years, it seemed tired to me and was not as clean as I would have hoped. The bathroom, in particular, was disgusting - mold in the shower and on the shower curtain and the bathroom didn't appear to be renovated.... more
