When you consider the bazillion hotel rooms available in Washington, D.C. the Mayflower Renaissance gives you hints of a time fleeting away. Glittering chandeliers and gold leaf topped interior design reflecting in marble floors makes you feel a little special. Friendly doormen and bellmen assist with car loads of luggage double parked on a very busy D.C. street. The check... More

Hotel is located in a good location, close to the white house and national mall. It is also conveniently close to the metro blue line which you can pick up at Reagan airport. I stayed in a cozy queen, it was perfect for my stay. Room is updated with a modern flare, crisp and clean. Hallways are also very modern,... More

With the recent renovation I was hoping for more, however my experience was not that memorable. My room was recently updated, the bed comfortable, but there were some odd things about the room: there wasn't a booklet that had information about the hotel or restaurants, no channel guide for the TV, no information about room rates and innkeeper laws, and... I recently stayed at the hotel and found the renovated rooms to be refreshing and modern. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past two decades. I love the public places and wish they would have honored the historical style, the modern lobby does not fit for this hotel. I miss Town and Country. Edgars (bar cafe)... More

Stayed recently on business for the first time in a long time. My view remains the same -- stay here if you are working nearby and can't find anything cheaper. If you can find someplace less expensive, skip the Mayflower. PROS -much improved rooms with ongoing renovation -excellent wifi and new electronics connections in the rooms -good service at front... Things are changing at the Mayflower. The rooms are being renovated and the décor changed to rebrand the hotel as part of the Autograph Collection. I am not entirely convinced. It really is a Grande Dame of a hotel and I think the makeover has in fact succeeded in making it less comfortable. This opinion is based on two visits... More

The Mayflower has recently been renovated making the rooms fresh, Art Deco and bright. The room had all the amenities including a spacious bedroom and bath. The staff is extremely welcoming and the hotel is perfectly located for business in downtown DC. Enjoyed my stay!

When you mention that you're staying at the Mayflower Renaissance, people inevitably comment that it's a "nice" hotel. I think the Mayflower has succeeded in conveying that image, but doesn't entirely live up to it in the details. For their price point, I would expect that your shampoo and conditioner gets replenished by housekeeping (guest services is great about sending... More

Stayed here on business for 2 days with about 24 of my peers. My room was not ready (understandable since I arrived 2 hrs before check in.) The bellman and hotel desk staff were very professional and friendly. The rooms were all newly renovated and classy. My room was on the small side but extremely comfy. The location is perfect... I was here for two nights and reserved two suites. When booking I asked for them to be close to each other and I was told that I would be accommodated. Upon arivial I was told the the rooms would be on separate floors and that one would not be ready until an hour after check in. Additionally there is... More
