This is a beautiful, historic hotel in downtown DC. It is proximal to the Dupont Circle area and George Washington University. It has very easy access on the Blue line from the airport, and to the rest of the city. The staff was EXCELLENT and accommodating. They handled all issues raised during the stay with friendly professionalism. The hotel was... More

Stayed for one night for business one Sunday evening in early January 2015. I had a very pleasant stay and seemed to avoid all the water, construction problems that have recently plagued some of the reviewers. Check in: I checked in around 6 pm. Had the car valeted. Quick, efficient process. Lot's of help with my bags. Valet parking is... More

It was the first time I stayed there in years and had remembered that the beauty and historic grandeur of the common areas were not matched by the utilitarian rooms. But this time, the room was lovely, modernized and comfortable. The location is convenient.

I stayed at the Mayflower for a week long meeting in January and was in a newly renovated room on the 10th floor. While there were some minor details that still needed to be fixed, the overall renovation is gorgeous( the only downside to the room was a noisy HVAC unit that ran the entire night). What is even more... More

I've stayed at the Mayflower Hotel for two decades on my frequent visits to Washington. My twice-monthly travels ended about four years ago, but I was in Washington just prior to Christmas for a pleasure visit. I chose to return to the Mayflower after an absence of four years. The bad: in their remodel during my absence, the lobby has... More

I had my choice of several equally priced hotels for a large conference at the convention center, several of which are brand new. I had been to the lobby of the Mayflower before and liked the historic quality of the building and expected the rooms to be of a similar higher-end quality. Wrong-O. Old and worn is what I got.... I had a reservation for a room at $239. The first room they put me in was a suite but it had no bed. Just a sofa bed. I wanted a real bed so after a lot of horsing around I got put into a newly refurbished room. 10th floor. Very nice but no coffee maker. When I called down,... More

I stayed at the Mayflower several times before and had wonderful experiences, but this time was very different. The one thing that remained consistent was the lovely service provided by front desk, bell hop and concierge staff. I was given the smallest room I have ever stayed in at this hotel and it was not that clean, with dead flies... More
