This hotel is in a great location, is bright, and found the bellmen and maids to be excellent people. That being said, the rooms were not to the standard requested when checking in, the front desk staff appear to need to talk to their manager for any decision, the room key cards seem to work very intermittently, newspapers are not... It's after midnight. My air conditioner is cycling on and off and smells like a combination of damp basement and sewer in my room at the mayflower, a classic old hotel I've stayed in during past visits. The hotel appears to have changed management and the rooms have been let go. I called the front desk for the second time... More

We stayed at hotel for 4 days in may 2014. Pros - great location....walking distance to the mall, DuPont circle - rich history of politicians who have some sort of connection to the hotel (Clinton, Hoover etc.) - nice lobby and cool bar/ restaurant Cons - rooms old and outdated.

The Mayflower Renaissance could be the right hotel for the right traveller. Someone who like something grand, presidential looking, with some architecture and history will definitely like this hotel. If you want something more modern, better look elsewhere. The Service: Friendly, quick service The Hotel Bar: Please bring your own peanuts if you plan to have beer at the bar.... More

I really liked my stay at The Mayflower ealier this month , The rooms were comfortable, I slept great , I was far from the elevator . Room was roomy , bathroom was neat , and average. for highend Marriott proprety. The check in process was a breeze, lobby bar (edgar) was great for cocktails before & after dinner .... More

One block from the RED subway line, my wife and I could not have been more pleased. There are a number of restaurants in the vicinity and DuPont Circle was easy to walk to. Errick at the front desk was very helpful. There was a day where a water main broke and took out the water in the hotel. This... More

This is a beautiful hotel in a great area of Washington DC. This was our second stay at this hotel, and unfortunately this time we were very disappointed in our room. The rug had stains and the furniture was old, worn & dirty. Certainly not what I expected for this level of hotel and for what we paid for the... More

First time staying here. I usually stay at the W or JW Marriot. This place is easily as good. Solid experience. Although the area is a little dull, this place has its own fantastic bar with great food. Cham the bartender was very helpful and welcoming.

We stayed here a week on the Marriott Vacation Club Explorer plan. This was our first trip to DC and loved it. The hotel is very elegant and we had a moderately sized room on the club level. The club room was very comfortable and well stocked. The service at the hotel was excellent. Edgar's restaurant had a nice breakfast... More

A wonderful old hotel with great rooms - in midst of renovation (present but not intrusive workers). Meeting rooms very good and interesting - at times loud background from main corridor. Handles various groups and meetings very well. Rooms lovely and varied. Great spaces.
