My family and I were apprehensive about the level of service we would experience during our long DC weekend trip this week, especially since we'd taken advantage of a pretty good online deal ($118/night). But they were actually quite gracious, from the doorman to the receptionist, who gave us all three of the little preferences I'd made online--"high floor," "rollaway... more

We stayed here the 25/26 of June 2009. The hotel itself is very nice with ok service. The room itself was big, and the bed was very comfortable! However the room overlooked the back of the hotel which is not very nice and the TV was very dated. The hotel bar was very expensive but maybe this is to be... more

The Mayflower Rennaisance is no doubt a beautiful historic hotel and overall, we enjoyed our stay there. We were, however, disappointed when upon after first full day of touring around D.C., we came back to a room where the beds hadn't been made, towels hadn't been changed, coffee hadn't been replaced, etc. Bottom line, our room wasn't touched. We were... more

The Mayflower is not even a 5 star wannabe. It offers very little to compete with other DC hotels (such as the Fairmont, Four Seasons, etc). The deluxe room faced an air shaft/other buildings. The room was big, the amenities were lovely, the bed and bedding were fabulous but the towels felt like sandpaper, the tv was old and antiquated(I... more

I stayed at this hotel with two colleagues during a conference. We arrived on a Saturday and were given a room with one queen bed, although our reservation had requested two beds and a rollaway. The staff at the front desk were rude and unprofessional. They grudgingly agreed to get us two rollaways. When we asked if there may be... more

This hotel is in a great location with easy access - whether by foot, cab or subway - to the major sights and destinations in Washington, D.C. While the location is a plus, I was disappointed with the level of service - especially since I booked the hotel using Priceline's "name your own price" service. At times it seemed like... more

I was at the Mayflower in early June 2009 for a business meeting. This hotel has some of the most beautiful ballrooms and meeting rooms that I’ve ever seen. The hotel was built in the 1920s and the beautiful plasterwork and detailing that just could not be reproduced today. While they were building beautiful ballrooms in the 1920s, they were... more

Most of the service was good. Bellhops are working for an expected tip, though they're nice. The staff at the registration desk were cold and seemed to have a bit of an attitude. The room had very low light, so even with all the lights on (oddly placed) within the room, it was still poor light. I ordered room service... more

Given the price of a room ($300+) I expect something bigger than a postage stamp with a small window overlooking a wall. Room was dirty and hot. Yet-- the front desk was cold (in terms of service). Overall a disappointing experience and I would NEVER stay here again. more

I am so disappointed with the Mayflower, my jewelry was stolen from my room. To this date, the claims department has been giving me the run around. I have been investigating on my own about this hotel and other customers that have stayed here have also had their valuables stolen from their rooms. I have come to the conclusion that... more
