The hotel has a long history. Although the room is old, the condistion is still good. The room is quiet and clean. Free and good quality breakfast is provided. The position of the hotel is very good. It takes only 15 minutes to walk to the White House.

Fengliyan_ice, The history of The Morrison Clark is rich and long; originally built as private residences in 1864 and used as the Soldiers’, Sailors’, and Airmens’ Club during most of the 1900s, the Inn has seen many prominent figures step foot through its doors. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge our historic past. I hope you will consider... More

We stayed in this hotel for less than 24 hours in November. There are some mixed reviews on tripadvisor and yelp but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The front desk guys were more than nice, they offered us complimentary coffee and cookies as we checked in. The room is exceptionally small but clean. The... More

Ida 32, Glad to have you as our guest back in November. As we are nearing completion of our expansion, guests have continuously mentioned that the hotel far exceeds the online reviews that were given during the time that we were under construction. I’m happy to hear this was the case with you too. Many thanks for taking the time... More

After reading a number of reviews on TA, we were a bit apprehensive to book this hotel - and honestly our experience far exceeded our expectations. We found every hotel staff member to be professional, friendly, and helpful. We did ask for a quiet room away from the street, and were given a beautiful room overlooking a dreadfully unattractive courtyard.... More

Where to begin? From the moment we walked into our room - we knew we had made the right choice. The rooms are everything you need, the staff is warm and welcoming, the complimentary breakfast is simply wonderful and it is close to everything. I read the reviews before I made the booking and the few misleading negative reviews were... More

The first room they gave me was right off the lobby. The walls are thin and elevator old and loud. All night I heard every single guest that entered or exited. The view was the construction work being done. I asked if it was possible to switch rooms for my second night. They were so nice about setting this up... More

Blayne G, Thank you for your honest review of the hotel. I’m confident that once our restoration project is complete and you stay with us again, you might have a completely different review to write! All of the reasons that your stay was less than perfect will be remedied; the large furniture in the room will be replaced by items... More

I chose this hotel because of its location across the street from my conference, but they overbooked and moved me to another hotel several blocks farther away. They blamed it on the construction going on, but from reading earlier reviews, the construction has been going on for a long time there. To make matters worse, they told me I couldn't... More

Epaddler, First, please allow me to apologize for the inconveniences you endured regarding your hotel stay. Although we have been under expansion for a while now, there are rare times when the project impacts some of our existing hotel rooms and at the last minute we aren’t able to hosts guests in those rooms. Unfortunately this happened during the time... More

Not looking to stay at one of the mega chains when I needed to be at the Convention Center for 3 days, the Morrison Clark Inn seemed like the right choice - and it was! While the room was a bit on the small side, what it lacked in size, it was totally made up with charm. The historical detail... More

Stayed here for business. Was able to walk to convention center, stroll across the street for great dinners at a neighboring hotel (Morrison-Clark was undergoing renovations and their restaurant was closed), and wander around the neighborhood. Located as it was in a busy area of Washington DC, it was surprisingly quiet. Room was great, with an adjoining sitting room, great... More

Booked a room we paid for before moving to the Henley Park for a business convention. The room was very small. You had to watch TV laying on the bed with your head were your feet go. They gave us a free upgrade the next day. Major construction going on and it looks like it will be a great place... More

my husband and I recently spent three nights at the hotel. Although the hotel is undergoing renovations it really didn't bother us as we only heard a little bit of noise in the morning. The concierge and staff were very helpful, very friendly and professional! The only glitch in our visit is that the restaurant was closed. I'd also prefer... More

foodcritic028, We have so many guests that call the Morrison Clark their home away from home while visiting DC. I hope we've become yours. As you mentioned, there is a little bit of noise as the crews next door are putting the finishing touches on the expansion buildings. We are hoping this will all be wrapped up in the next... More
