This was my second time at the hotel. A good location within walking distance of a lot of things so a good choice for tourists and those in town for business. I was given a nice room which had been recently renovated. Staff very helpful and kind. Would have been nice to have an EU-US adaptor :) Breakfast is a... More

My fiancée and a colleague both booked rooms at this hotel, each using different travel sites. Upon arrival, they were both told that their rooms were "Out of Service." No prior notice had been given. They were both shunted off to a hotel nearby that cost $100 less per night. No one lifted a finger to make things right. They... More

Recent business trip to DC convention so tried this historic inn. It is a lovely old mansion in need of updating. Spacious but spartan room/suite had rug in need of cleaning or replacement. Bathroom was oddly configured and dark, and certainly not updated. Room faced courtyard where construction started early and with vigor! Breakfast was cold but really excellent. Would... More

Of the three places we stayed in D. C., this was our least favorite. The staff were all very nice, but our room was very old and cramped. They are updating the inn with a new wing on the back, so it may be better to stay in that after it's finished. It wasn't a huge deal because we weren't... More

We were greeted by Godissa and Eyob looked after our luggage. Both men were very friendly and really informative. We instantly felt welcome and valued. What a lovely surprise and the location absolutely perfect.

The people could not have been more accommodating that worked there. Plus they have a great front porch to have your nightly glass of wine (free) and people watch! I was pleased with the amenities considering the age of the building ! Very good service!

This is a treasure - a traditional hotel close to the White House and Capitol Hill. It was a pleasure to stay in a place with so much individual character. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful and the room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was fairly basic but perfectly ok. I was travelling on business, but I would... More

We stayed 3 nights and did most of the Washington sights. After a long day we enjoyed our return to this smaller hotel. They are expanding and refurbishing so that the restaurant was not open. But with the nicer weather we were able to sit outside on the porch! Try that at some of the bigger hotels. Some but not... More

NOT your sparkly-new "big box" - thank goodness! High-ceilinged rooms, rich trim molding, warm and intimate lobby, kind staff - especially Wanda. There were a few quirks at the Inn, but I found these kind of charming. Outside steps are treacherous and not for the feeble. Remodeling is underway but this wasn't inconvenient, except perhaps with the elevator for which... More
