This hotel needs serious improvements. The location is amazing-one of the best places to stay if all you're looking for is proximity to the mall. That's really the only good thing I can say about it. My wife was so disgusted we had to leave after only one night, though we were booked for four. Then, they said they didn't... More

The location is great; all the major monuments are within walking distance plus there is a shopping mall next door. The room was big, clean and comfortable but a bit dated; I read somewhere that this hotel was recently renovated. The staff were also relatively friendly. We enjoyed our stay there. Recommended.

This hotel is perfectly located. It is right by the tube station which provides easy access to different parts of central Washington DC. The hotel is beautiful and it has all the amenities you need. Make sure you ask for help for where to go and they will be happy to provide this.

The location is fantastic with the Smithosian at the bottom of the road and other major attractions very close by. The hotel is very comfortable with big rooms. It did not look like the most impressive outside but once you are inside you will be pleased.

There were metro works going on during our stay, (0700-2300 - if they are still ongoing, look at other options as the noise was unbearable!) but that was no ones fault. The room was clean and spacious, although a bit dated. The restaurant and communal areas were lovely, and the pool was excellent! The staff were not the friendliest of... More

Note: This hotel is closed for restoration as of Spring, 2014, and so this review may have only historical merit. It sounds like the owners' plan is to make the place somewhat pricier, which is understandable given their investment but would a shame since one of the old L'Enfant Plaza Hotel's best selling points was its value for the location.... Staying at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel, you really are at the epicenter of the action Washington DC has to offer. They are currently under construction but I can review with emphasis on this location. You really are 2 blocks away from the US Capital/Smithsonian Museum complex... yes, if you didn't know, the Smithsonian Museum is actually a collection of many... More

Yhis hotel has been sold amd it is now closed for somewhere between a year and 18 months. The new owners plan to do a complete renovation. It was a great hotel only when it first opened......went way downhill.

If you're new to DC, like I was, you may not know where to stay. The Mall area looks like its close to everything - do not make that mistake. If you are there for sightseeing, we recommend staying in the Penn Quarter. Although we were close to some museums, staying at the L'Enfant, there were NO restaurants or shops... More

My husband and I stayed 5 nights. Be aware there are no guest laundry facilities (only valet which is expensive) and no free wifi. The room was as we expected older but appeared clean and tidy. A lot is written about the convenient location and it is good with the metro below, however food options are extremely limited. There is... More
