I was very pleased with my stay at the Helix. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, outfitted effectively (including more than enough plus for my phone charger, computer, etc.). The wireless worked perfectly, in the room and elsewhere in the hotel. The dining room/bar is relatively informal (which I actually like), and while the menu is... More

The second time I have stayed at the Helix. Another excellent Kimpton property - friendly, helpful service, great room, easy internet service and as Kimpton member, appreciate the $10 worth of mini bar use. Would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

I stayed here in september of 2010. All up good stay except that getting public transport was hard. otherwise great location. My family and I usually went down to a nice shop called wholefoods. Great soups and salads, and only a 30 second walk to the local 7 eleven. I myself throught that our room smelt like a smokers room.... More

The Helix is a small hotel with a large feeling. It is decorated in a pop-style which makes it fun to be in. The service is excellent and the breakfasts are abundant.

Hotel Helix has seen better days but is still very clean, in a great location, pet friendly, and reasonable. It is a good 30 min walk to the National Mall and all of the sights in DC but a lovely walk. We were woken up very early by construction going on in the lot next door even though we were... More

Our visit to Washington, DC was made all the more memorable and pleasurable by staying at the Hotel Helix!! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel at home and treated with smiles and greetings every time we entered through the amazing sliding curtains. The hip interior theme was carried out throughout the hotel and happy hour... More

I went to this hotel because of a great on-line rate. I was really impressed by the personal level of service provided by the hotel staff. They set up the room with personal touches that they suggested after a comment made by me on their website reservation page. Nice residential like area- and very unique experience.

this a colorful little hotel in Washington DC. the overall ambiance is very tasteful, bright and appealing. staff is courteous and helpful. rooms are functional, clean and amenities are very good but the rooms are small. it is not the best location to be in Washington DC but once you are inside the hotel you will not regret having chosen... I stayed here for a business trip, arriving late after a long day of travel...i hadn't been the one who booked the hotel so was not expecting the atmosphere or decor...i found it to be a blast to the senses and not very relaxing....so in other words not of my taste. The room was fine, not particularly upscale, though functional.... More

This was at least our 5th or 6th time staying at the Helix and we just love it! We were in DC for an extended weekend see 2 specific art exhibits (Rockwell at the Portrait Gallery and Arcimboldo at the National Gallery). We travel with our 2 dogs and that is how we found the Helix to begin with. When... More
