What a nice hotel this was. At first we were a bit unsure due to the bright colours, but after a noisy first night, the staff were excellent and we were moved rooms. It was clean, quiet and good location. Nice friendly staff. Would stay again. more

Walking into this place felt like walking onto a Hollywood set (hint: call the hotel's main line and you hear Austin Powers and Dr. Evil!). It has a young hip lounge vibe, is very colorful and modern (not eclectic, just modern). During the day the place is pretty quiet; we saw lots of artsy types and business people in the... more

I was a guest oif another hotel chain but I saw the neon canopy of the Hotel Helix and just had to check it out. The lounge was a great place to grab a quick bite and to have drinks after a busy day in D.C. I wasn't a hotel guest but the staff did show me a few rooms... more

I've stayed at many Kimpton properties over the past decade, primarily for business travel. Upon pulling into The Helix, I realized that this wasn't a standard Kimpton - which could have gone either way. The front "desk" consisted of two podiums, and were rarely manned. I found the hotel to be understaffed on multiple occasions, including the bellman, the valet,... more

Just got back from my stay at the Hotel Helix. I will admit that before I got to my room, I was a bit nervous. The lobby does not really do this place justice - it was very loud and looked a little...cheap. BUT, the rooms are fantastic. I had requested a room on the upper floor (away from the... more

The hotel looked very nice, our room was spacious with a good size bathroom. I think it is a small, but tall building, because it seemed to be a little narrow at the entrance. The restaurant/lounge looked very attractive. The waitress, however was wearing a T-shirt and boots, which looked very unprofessional for a hotel restaurant. The front office manager... more

I've stayed at more than a dozen Kimpton Hotels and The Helix abides by the same great standards as the others: Friendly, trained staff. Comfortable rooms. Clever decor. Sweet amenities. Restaurant and a hotel barl you can actually hang out in. Oddly I met the General Manager in the bar (James?) and had a short conversation with him and the... more

I know that James will be pleased to hear that his encounter with you was memorable. You’re right, a small exchange is enough to make a stay pleasant. Thanks for staying with us and the Kimpton...

Absolultey outstanding service and accommodations! This was one of many stays at the Helix Hotel but this one was worthy of a review! I love the decor of this hotel (feels like a Miami Art Decor Hotel in DC!) and the food/restaraunt was execllent. I was upgraded to a bigger room just b/c I was a Kimpton InTouch Member and... more

We booked our stay online a month in advance. While waiting for our international flight, our flight was delayed by a day because of mechanical issues. We called the hotel and asked to have our stay rescheduled. Customer service first told us to call back, then proceeded to put us on hold. Then they told us to call back. After... more
