A bit of a throwback to a different era - in the best way. An historic building that has a distinctive, comfortable and warm feel to it, largely because of the terrific staff that is as gracious as the hotel. I found the room roomy, nicely furnished and equipped with all the modern amenities you'd want. In an era of... More

The room didn't have an armchair, so if you wanted to watch TV or relax with your tablet or laptop it was either on the bed or a desk chair. If the bed had been a queen, instead of a king, there would have been room for one or possibly two comfortable sitting chairs. There was no guide to the... More

This was our first time at the Henley Park. I was attending a conference at the DC convention center which is barely 2 blocks walk from the hotel. It is a beautiful early 20th century building which has been lovingly cared for. It is a small hotel and the staff could not have been nicer. It is not bustling and... More

This hotel offers a pleasant stay to see all you need to in Washington. It is reasonably close to the major touristy areas and is just a few blocks walk from the subway. The staff is great: in particular the door staff and the bar tender. The room was of a fair size, although the view from the window was... More

Stayed here from July 10-July 13. Staff was extremely friendly. Restaurant/Bar is really nice (live jazz music on Saturday). Rooms are small but very clean (not noisy at all, as others have mentioned). Free wifi, good A/C, in-room safe, refrigerator, coffee maker....The only thing I didn't like was the pillows. They're way too big... but I guess that's a matter... More

This is our third stay at the park Henley. Everything that we remembered as being good was even better. Great location. Charming lobby and bar area. We were upgraded to a large, spotless lovely room that was really quiet at night on a busy weekend. Bathroom was terrific Big, clean good water pressure etc If you want to stat away... More

the hotel is really nice. it looks like a castle in the center of Washington.it's conveniently located in the center of everything worth visiting in the capital:the smithsonian museums, national mall, the Capitol.....we walked everywhere.besides, chinatown with its cafes is almost round the corner. as for the hotel itself, the staff were helpful and friendly.the room was clean.good complimentary wifi.the only drawback was unbearable... If you're like me and appreciate hotels with 'character' then this is the place for you! We booked this hotel (sort of) last minute for the 4th weekend and it turned out to be just the right spot. Here are the quick stats: Pros: - Short walk to metro (Mt. Vernon Square) minimizing parking costs. - Short walk to popular... More

Originally booked for 2 nights, due to a flat tire en route had to cut our stay to one night. Hotel staff were very helpful in dealing with this, made our day a little less stressful. It's a historic hotel, so don't expect modern rooms! Rooms were nice, we had a larger one. Bed was decent. Parking was a little... More

As others have commented, the rooms are quite small: bed, nightstand, small desk and tv. The size doesn't matter if all you care to do is return at night and sleep (which worked for me). Unfortunately, the bed was a bit too firm for me so I was not able to sleep as comfortably as I would have liked. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Experience the elegance of a grander era at The Henley Park Hotel in downtown Washington DC. Constructed as the Tudor Hall Apartments in 1918, this historic address served as the home of notable Senators and Congressmen. Showcasing a stately façade of leaded, stained-glass windows and 119 grinning gargoyles - including two depicting the architect and his wife - the lodging struck the ideal tone for its distinguished clientele. Thanks to a staff as attentive to tradition as it is to the ever evolving needs of the modern traveler, the civilized spirit which made The Henley Park Hotel one of Washington’s most cherished homes is very much intact. ... more   less
