Disclose the construction to guests BEFORE they arrive so they can make an informed decision on staying here while it’s an active constructive zone. Had you told me when I made the reservation I may have opted to stay due to your convenient location. I was a guest on the days when you brought in beams, so your lobby was... More

I stay at Grand Hyatt's in lots of cities, and have stayed in some as they were undergoing lobby renovation. But the lobby here is a major construction zone. The hotel should not be accepting reservations while this work is being done. The elevators are possibly the slowest I've ever experienced. Wait was up to 5 minutes on occasion. Unbelievably... Upon walking into the hotel on a Friday in February, 2015, we were met with jackhammering and a lobby in a complete construction zone. I realize they are trying to make it better with a renovation but we were not aware of the extent of the work being done at the time. Even the elevator area's facade was torn down.... More

Although above the lobby level this hotel is up to standards, the lobby renovations were very disruptive while we were there. Lots of noise, a very uneven floor surface in the lobby, and not chairs or anywhere to sit in the lobby. While we were there (on a very cold day) the doors were open for a good part of... More

Warning Active Lobby Construction Zone It looks like a bomb went off in the main lobby area when you look at it from the upper floors Jack hammers start running at 7:30 every morning This is your warning until June 2015 When they claim the construction will be done. The rooms are nice, but kind of pricey

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Grand Hyatt Washington DC and your recent experience. I do understand the noise and disruption of the lobby due to construction and renovation is a trial for our guests and the atrium view is not at all desirable during renovations.. We do appreciate you patience while we make these upgrades to our hotel.... More

Unless you like to hear jack hammers and construction work during the day while feeling your hotel room vibrate, I would certainly look to stay in another hotel until the work is completed. There should be a better description for what is going on at the hotel when it is booked. The room service was also pitiful for a Grand... More

When I originally made the reservation, the hotel’s website had a picture of a beautiful winding pool in the center of the hotel with a bridge and piano. (Even now, the picture is still posted on the website) This was a major selling point for me when I made the reservation. All of that was gone. Every morning, I could... More

The room was great but the noise and dirt from contruction overshadow that. They bill themselves as a luxury hotel but don't have a staff to check you in. Instead they have a staff to attempt to help you check in at a liosk if it works. Also $35 daily parking with no in and out privalages or $45 daily... More

My husband & I recently stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. Upon arrival, we were very surprised to discover that the lobby was in the midst of a major renovation! Not sure what the typical procedure is when a hotel is under construction but we certainly would have appreciated being told when we called to book the hotel.... More

They are in the middle of construction and for the most part the safe areas to travel are marked. Note that I said for the most part. If you are going to stay here over the next 4-8 weeks, be very aware as the construction crews like to park scissor lifts in areas where you have to walk directly beneath... More
