It was a mad construction zone in the main lobby area from 8am to 7pm and rooms were outdated. The carpet was not clean, shower kept dripping, etc. Spend some money on the rooms and not the damn lobby. Elevators were extremely slow.

Everything about a four-day stay at this hotel was unpleasant. The lobby was a constrruction zone with men in hardhats scurrying around everywhere in the lobby. The hotel staff were obviously worn down and immune to complaints after weeks of dissatisfied (and horrified) guests. It is inexcusable that Hyatt decided to keep this hotel open during massive lobby reconstruction.

The entire lobby was deconstructed, the drilling resonated throughout the hotel, including the meeting rooms. Dust pervaded the guest rooms. Elevators were under construction. Escalators did not work. Do not go near this hotel until it is completely redone and cleaned thoroughly.

We stayed here for work purposes and it was adeqate. There was wifi, rooms were adequate, gym adequate BUT due to construction the breakfast buffet was poor. The worst aspect is the service. Everytime we asked reception something they were unfriendly and unhelpful. I havent ever experienced that before at a hotel of this rating and it made a big... More

Hotel lobby was under major construction. (Very disappointed that construction was not mentioned on American Express website when we booked the room). Had to follow a maze of corridors to check in and get to elevators. Property was definitely not the type of Grand Hyatt that we have stayed in other cities. If traveling to Washington DC in the near... More

My boyfriend and I came here for the cherry blossoms thinking "How nice will it be to relax at a nice hotel for the weekend". We were wrong. This hotel experience was the worst hotel experience ever. The entire lobby area (which is huge) was under construction. And I mean really under construction. From 8am to 8pm hammers and other... More

Yes they are under renovation, but you would think that would encourage better attention to the details. I went to front to ask about how to work coffee 'pot' ( talk about the opposite of being green- but that's too long a story to get in to) There were 3, THREE , people at the desk talking to each other... I had stayed at this hotel previously and it was fine.....Presently, however, you are paying close to $400 a night to stay in a construction site. The lobby is a construction zone and the signs state this. Dust is prevalent; you can write your name on a hard surface in the lobby because of the dust. Escalators to the conference... More

On a recent business trip, I checked into the (under construction) lobby and had a quick interaction, as expected. The room was attractive and spacious, but as I made a quick call and walked to the window as I spoke, I looked down at my socked feet and...felt ill. Someone's collection of toe nails trimmings were scattered on the floor!... More

The hotel was very nice. It was in an area with incredible restaurants and still walking distance to the monuments. Metro was right there. I stayed at the Hyatt for a conference. I wouldn't have paid for something so expensive if it wasn't for a conference.
