Rooms were clean and comfortable, nice breakfast but problems to find a place in rush hours, in good location , front desk were not very helpful, because renovations lifts were a bit hit and miss, The pool at the top nice place with nice views

Staying at a hotel under renovation means a few compromises – although one would expect prices to come down a bit more to accommodate inconveniences. The hotel is perfectly situated just off DuPont and very close to the Metro stop. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is immediate access to all that the area has to offer. Taking the... More

When you check out, even though you paid for the hotel online, they slap you with a $9.95/night hotel service fee. The manager was insistent that this is. "Mandatory fee" and could only say it covers the "hotels services". Perhaps if it has been $20, there would have been a decent breakfast bar selection.

There are a lot of pricey hotels in DC. It's hard to find a good value. The Embassy Row Hotel offers a great location on a gorgeous street. The pool lounge is nice and the rooms fairly comfortable. However, they don't go beyond. Amenities, like enough creamers/sugars for the in-room coffee, body lotion, water and soap are hard to come... More

The hotel is nice, if not a little old but they are doing renovations, which I didn't know about, so there is no restaurant or room service, sometimes it's nice to eat in after a long day exploring. The breakfast is ok but it's in the lobby area now and if you are not there early you miss out on... More

My husband and I recently stayed here for three nights. I'll start with the good: the staff was friendly and accommodating and the location is unbeatable, just a block from a metro station in DuPont circle. Lots of good bars and restaurants very close. Our king sized bed was very comfortable and all in all, for the price $100 a... More

This hotel seemed like it had once been grand, but was a little past its prime. They say they are renovating, so they know they need to upgrade. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The check in process seemed slow and antiquated. If there had been a line we would have been in trouble. Its location... More

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over a weekend in October. The only thing that this hotel has going for it is its location. Having arrived in DC at 9:30am, I tried to check in early. After waiting in line for over 10 minutes (one person was on duty) the front desk staff had said they do have... More

Dear Jtbrow, Thank you for reviewing the hotel. The renovations begin in two weeks. Continental breakfast at the hotel will end October 31st. I'm glad you recommended Le Pain Quotidien; it's a great choice for breakfast just steps from the hotel. I appreciate your candid feedback about the room. I'll share this with our appropriate teams. We would like to... More

The hotel is being refurbished, so concrete corridors (carpets removed), walls being painted etc. There isn't anywhere to eat. Breakfast is served in a lounge area (looked like it used to be the bar). No where to sit when its busy, but if you are lucky you might get to sit on a sofa and balance your breakfast on you... More

I stayed here on business with colleagues. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment and i must have got one of the first rooms they have finished as my room was clean, modern and well furnished. Others in my party had tired rooms. The hotels location is excellent its right next to the Dupont circle metro and enabled me to jump... More
