We stayed there with friends for a week end, and we loved it. Curtain, furnitures and wallpaper are old-fashioned, but the location is very nice. Next to the topomac river, really close to a kind of fish market, 40 minutes walking to the white house and many memorial and museum. The air conditioner is quite noisy and if you turn... More

At the Channel Inn everything works fine, is clean, functional and has lovely river views. It's just that it's fading out. In fact, the future of the hotel seems to be very much in question as the marina is embarking on a major renovation and upgrade. We went for a family reunion at a houseboat on the Potomac, so the... Surely you can avoid this hotel, very old rooms and need maintaince. Staff is not friendly at all they talk rudely. Front reception given us a already occupied room. Then we two guest has to go to the reception and solve it, they did not bother to come up and talk. Restaurant is of poor quality. only thing i liked... More

We were in town to visit the museums, monuments and to attend a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. It was a short trip and we were not in the room much. We checked out a day early due to some family issues. This was fortuitous as we had not received a towel replenishment for the day. Pros: Free parking!! Walking... More

Just back from three nights at the Channel Inn and it was fine. Our room was clean, shower water was hot, bed was comfortable, room was serviced everyday with clean towels and brunch in the dining room was substantial and good. We picked up tea from the cafe for our morning drink. We parked the car for three days and... More

I would not have chosen the Channel Inn myself. My employer booked a block of rooms and I had to stay there. Upon entering my first questions was WHY? the only thing the Channel Inn has going for it is location. I'm sure this place was nice at one time. I'm also assuming that time was sometime between the Carter... More

Dirty toilet, bathroom floor was filthy, cobwebs on the ceiling. I will not stay here again. The only reason I did was th a t I hsd no other option. I will also never book on line as I was charged almost double.

Charming hotel - dated look but it's adorable and very well kept. Very special secret place. Rates are CHEAP! Free parking, balcony with a view, great location. Very clean. Food at the restaurant is big portions and very tasty. Only complaint is beds were a little hard.

We never visited this hotel but reserved a room for next summer. We just heard this hotel is closing down and they wont be able to honour our reservation for august 2014. The hotel had already charged the dull amount of the cost of our stay in advance. We hope to see a refund.

This is a very special place. The river views are wonderful. Just checked in for a 9 night stay -- I've stayed many times before -- and am never disappointed. Rooms are a little dated but that's part of the charm. The bar has good music. Staff are very friendly. Rates are extremely reasonable. Above all, to have a balcony... More
