This is an excellent hotel. For the price you can't get anything better. This is a very nice hotel in a perfect location for a holiday. Spending a week here was a joy. The hotel was spotless, room cleaned very well everyday. Coupled with the fact that “service was extremely good” we are gracious to know that spending a week with us was a joy. We had a very pleasant 4 night stay at Hotel Monticello. Our room (502) , a suite, was generous in size and amenities such as a small fridge. easy to stay there; quite old but rooms well decorated and roomy; bed a little hard but lots of pillows; good selection of TV channels; parking expensive at $30 per night close to stores and shops but still quiet and secluded; Only problem is the Metro does not go to Georgetown so cabs are the way to go more

Other than taxi and metro, another means of transportation is the circulator bus that comes by every 15 minutes. This bus will also take you to the Metro station. Please visit us again...
On a future trip to DC, I'd probably reconsider staying in Georgetown because it's off the Metro lines, making it a bit harder to get around. But I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Georgetown. My husband and I took a much coveted overnight stay to Georgetown, our former stomping grounds. Sans kids we were able to travel freely and stay in places other than family-friendly places. I am sorry that we did not quite meet all of your expectations this time. However, I assure you that next time we will. We have rooms with different layouts; unfortunately you were not accommodated in one of the other rooms. Thank you for your comment on the great location and okay room. I reviewed all of the hotels in the Georgetown area and chose this one when I read they doubled sheeted the beds. To me, this is a sign that a hotel respects cleanliness.
