I have stayed here a few times when other hotels in the area are sold out. It is a charming building in a good location. Easily walkable to Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. The hot, made to order breakfast is a highlight. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quaint and clean. The biggest drawback for me is that... More

I was looking for an out-of-the-way B&B that was off the beaten path of tourist traps and expensive hotels to celebrate my birthday; I found exactly what I was looking for in the American Guest House. The staff was very accommodating and friendly; although there was an initial mix-up with my reservation (very much my fault for not paying attention... More

Actually I loved everything about the place, except the parking situation. The room was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was divine! The chef was fun to talk to and the other guests were interesting. My only small complaint is parking. Once I arrive, I park my car and take the convenient Metro - a 10 min. walk to the Red... More

I was in town for a 3-day conference at the Washington Hilton, located right around the corner from the American Guest House. I chose the American Guest House not only because it was much less pricey than the conference hotel, I also figured I would probably receive better breakfast and more personal service. My experience was mixed. I stayed in... More

It is unfortunate and extremely disappointing when one of our guests leave the American Guest House felling less than happy with our services, after all, we are always posting about how friendly we are and how great our breakfasts are. As always, I encourage each of our guests to speak up their dissatisfaction while they are still at the Inn... More

I greatly enjoyed sating at the American Guesthouse these last 4 nights. I turned in my keys this morning and am heading home. Such a contrast to the busy hotels I usually stay in when in town. Staff are all very pleasant, Kevin does an excellent breakfast, & I enjoyed chatting with the other guests over breakfast. And by excellent,... More

My wife and I spent two nights at the AGH. This was our first time trying a B&B. Our stay was fantastic and we will certainly stay here again when visiting the DC area. The room was clean and comfortable. Kevin did a wonderful job each morning on breakfast. We really enjoyed eating with the other guest. The location is... More

We stayed again this summer at American Guest house and again found the rooms clean, comfortable and cosy, the breakfast delish and the staff accomodating and friendly. Washington DC is such a wonderful place to visit but so hectic, and this beautiful bed and breakfast takes one away from noise and bustle, while close to transportation and several wonderful restaurants... My husband and I spent a night in this lovely B & B on a business trip to DC. The staff were warm and welcoming - especially Kevin, the chef - and breakfast with the other guests was homely and charming.

My husband and I recently stayed at the AGH and we were very pleased. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Kevin the Chef was AMAZING. We had his special lemon ricotta pancakes and French toast. DELISH. I would highly recommend staying here. It was quiet and close to transportation with the metro bus stopping right in front of the property.

I enjoyed my recent stay at the Guest House. Its amenities, closeness to transport and restaurants and friendly service provided by the staff all contributed to making my visit to Washington so enjoyable . Meeting other guests at breakfast was nice and I really appreciated the take out breakfasts provided for my early starts. I'd certainly recommend the Guest House... More
