I stayed at this hotel in May 2011. The valet staff damaged my car and the hotel manager reassured me they'll take care of the damages. That was 6 months ago.. I must've called them about a dozen times since then, and got a different story each time. I would advise folks to stay away from this hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located next to the GWU campus and within a couple of minutes from the Foggy Bottom metro station. The rooms are large and comfortable. Overall a good value for short business trips in this part of town. However: charging $9.95/day for internet service that barely rises to 0.50 Mbps, when the average consumer in the US... More

The DoubleTree Suites Washington provides the fine service and amenities that you may expect from a city branch of this chain. However, the hotel’s old building while located on a very nice and Washingtonian neighborhood shows its age and outdated construction in areas like the elevators, the front desk and some parts of halls and rooms. On the other hand,... More

I, too, read the reviews on this site and was not sure what to expect. I was visiting GWU and was attending a program sponsored by the university so I did not have a choice of hotels. The lobby was small and cramped and the elevators opened very slowly. When I got into my room, I was shocked. I felt... More

I booked this hotel as I was running the Marine Corp Marathon and needed a place close to the Metro and start and finish. After I booked, I was a little surprised to see all the mixed reviews on this site, but decided to keep my reservation as I was only staying for one night. My experience overall was great--the... I am a man of few words, and here they are. I used points for this stay so that may sway the review a little. Anyhow, use the valet as there is nowhere else to park. The valets are prompt and courteous. Rooms are large. It was my wife and I and two teenagers. We had two queen beds and... More

This is not about my stay but about my scheduling reservations as an alumnus of my undergraduate university. I feel that I have every right to write a review because it is about the handling of the reservation process which I personally made. Having graduated with honors, I now feel that I failed my University Chancellor by making reservations for... More

A little out of the way from everything, but room not too bad. Pool is very small, meals are outragiously priced, internet access pricey, and car storage is very expensive. I will stay somewhere else next time.

We had a 2 night reservation, but cancelled the second night last minute due to the hurricane. There was no charge for the second night despite the late cancellation. The room was very clean and comfortable. This was a trip to drop off our George Washington Univ. freshman. The Double tree is very convenient both for the campus and sight... More

Checked in to 2- two room suites. One room perfect and the other digusting! Housekeeping must have forgot about this room. Tv did not work! Maintenance had to come to the room twice. Kitchen stove burners were not in place so that you could cook, floor was disgusting with food still in the corners (probably not mopped in days!). The... More
