The Inn is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with upscale residences and embassies nearby, but it's a good 15-minute walk from the nearest Metro station at Dupont Circle. My room turned out to be very small, with no sink and a shared bath. I had to wait 20+ minutes for the bathroom sometimes. One morning there was no hot water... More

Thank you for your review and for your insight regarding your accommodations. We sincerely apologize for the lack of hot water, as you may or may not have heard, on the morning of Thursday, April 9th our 75 lb. water heating unexpectedly broke. The house is 105 years old so these types of issues do arise and were out of... More

The room we booked had a fireplace in the picture so we wrongly assumed that it worked. When we got there we asked if we could build a fire and were told it is not a working fireplace (it was around 40º that night). We asked if we could have a fire when we returned from dinner around 9pm, in... More

Thank you for your review. We value your opinion and are always striving for excellent service. We deeply regret that we were unable to meet your expectations with our breakfasts and the décor of the Inn. In regards to the fireplace in our lounge, unfortunately, our front desk closes at 8pm so for the safety of our guests and the... More

I last stayed here 2 years ago and the services were excellent- truly home away from home! This time around, I was not disappointed. They have maintained the excellent services with a very personalised touch, making you feel at home even though you are away from home. My choice anytime I'm in Washington DC! Great value for money!! Stayed in... More

What a lovely weekend we just spent at Taft Bridge Inn! The inn was quiet, clean, and very comfortable, a Georgian-style 3-story mansion with 12 bedrooms, 7 of them with private baths. Furnishings are elegant, and many have a Japanese theme. The owner was friendly and kind, lit us a fire in the fireplace, and served us good hot coffee... More

This is a comfortable, old fashioned inn in a great part of Washington. It was probably once a wealthy person's mansion and retains many of the architectural/design features that were common in the early 20th century. The rooms are mostly spacious and include period furniture. The common areas, basically a parlor or living room and a dining roomt, also feature... More

This B&B offers a very personal experience. The owner cooks breakfest for the guests every morning, providing an opportunity to convive with other people. Location is also pretty good, in an elegant neighbourhood and not far from the Dupont Circle Metro station.

This is my 2nd stay at the Taft. I spent 6 days in Room 18 and came on business. The room was clean and comfortable and the overall environment was extremely conducive to getting my business related work done. The breakfasts were delicious. The owner was friendly and helpful in making suggestions on places to eat, shop and sightsee. The... More

This grand home turned B&B provides a unique way to experience DC. It is just steps from Connecticut Ave and within easy walking distance of popular Dupont Circle, yet the block is quiet enough to permit a good night's sleep even from rooms facing the street. Several of the people we met are regulars who value its distinct virtues, and... More

I've now actually lost count of the number of times I've stayed at the Taft Bridge Inn. I've not booked a room anywhere else after discovering this warm and elegant inn so close to DuPont Circle. I feel welcome each time I return, and receive such great personalized attention. I especially savor the breakfasts, which are beautifully presented. I've stayed... More

This is my fourth stay at the Taft Bridge Inn. It's like my home away from home and I never stay anywhere else when I'm in DC. I normally reserve a shared bath, single room and for my recent trip, my father and I had two single rooms and shared a bathroom between the two of us. The fact that... More
