Celia's was a wonderful place to stay for 1 week while celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in DC. It was so very close to the Capital, Mall, subway and even rental bikes. We bonded quickly to her two beautiful and velvety soft black cats that we felt completely at home. We loved the guest sitting room off the bedroom both... More

Location: a very pretty neighborhood 2 blocks from the Capitol with public transportation and plenty of good restaurants close by. Breakfast: Celia offered a wonderful fresh mixed berry/fruit salad, local bakery bread for toast, wide selection of cereals and juices, delicious coffee, Washington Post or NY Times papers, plus delightful conversation as you wish -- in a sunny dining room.... I had a brief 2-night stay during cold winter weather. It was a business visit. I found Celia's to be comfortable, like staying in a friend's extra guest room, which was exactly the mood I was looking for. The row house is narrow and the guest room has an attached sitting room that catches the morning sun and has a... More

Lovely home with wonderful style. With books, artwork, and framed photography at every corner, along with the house's natural historic charm, it is definitely a peaceful and creative space. The bed and couch in sitting room are extremely comfortable! I'm not a big breakfast person, but there was a large spread for me to choose from. It's also around the... More

Celia's Place is one of the most unusual and interesting B&Bs we have ever stayed in: the house is full of books, photographs and fascinating items connected to Celia's life. Her recommendation on places to see and things to do in Washington were much appreciated and we learnt a lot just from talking to her. All the 'normal' B&B aspects... More

Celia's Place is an ideal place to stay. Warm, welcoming with the hostess' lifetime of collection of books and art adding to the charm. Walking distance to subway, Eastern Market as well as the Mall. Would definitely recommend especially for the single female traveler!

Celia's Place is an unexpected and fabulous surprise nested just behind The Capitol and the Library of Congress. We so loved our time there that we were sad to leave!! Celia graciously opens her home and treats you as a house guest who's come for a visit. She served us breakfast and coffee when it was convenient for us. The... More

A stay at Celia's was warm and welcoming! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, found the location convenient for our travels and needs while in Washington, D.C. Celia's home is lovely- take the time from your busy schedule to sit down and visit with Celia - and the paintings and images on the walls come alive with colorful and interesting stories.... More

I had high hopes that were quickly dashed. Art is one thing faded glory is another. Towels and bedspread that you are allowed to use (you have to remove the top one because it comes from Belgium) have tattered edges and permanent stains. Breakfast is cold cereal and yogurt and something called tropicana that pretends to be orange juice. Thank... More

How unfortunate that this guest was not happy during her time at Celia’s place, as so many have been who chose this home for their stay in Washington during the 20+ years she had been a B&B in DC. There are several things to which she objected that should not have been a surprise, much less a disappointment. We advertize... More

Beautiful house and unbelievable location if you're working on Capitol Hill -- just behind the Library of Congress and a five-minute walk away from the Capitol itself. Celia's house is beautiful, filled with lovely things and she's an extremely welcoming and interesting host. The bedroom isn't large, but you have a book-lined study all to yourself! Highly recommended.
