I check out of the Melrose tomorrow. The room is large and clean, but the toilet takes several tries before it flushes...and the tub drains so slowly that I end my shower up to my ankles in water. The fitness center is okay (2 treadmills, two ellipticals, a bike and dumbells), but the lock doesn't work. The locks are electronic,... More

I visited for a week the Melrose because i attended a course at the IMF. The hotel itself is very good, the rooms are spacious and clean, but this is the only good thing around here. First, the staff... is by far the less attentive, unfriendly staff i´ve ever seen! Starting with the front office, they don´t explain anything about... More

First I want to thank you for taking the time to fill out a survey. I want to apologize for the service shortcoming you experienced during your stay. I was surprised to hear about the front desk lack of service as they score in the top 15% in customer service scores for Independent Hotels in the US. I will address... More

Check-in was somewhat chaotic as they were renovating the lobby area and construction work was going on at the front desk. Nevertheless, the receptionist was helpful and friendly. Junior Suite Room was located on the 7th floor. Spacious with 3 different rooms and far enough from the noisy street. The room was clean and the décor was fairly basic and... More

We were very pleased with the Melrose and would recommend it to friends. Great location, walk to Georgetown. Price was right, staff were helpful and professional, room was enormous with comfy bed and wall of windows and the usual amenities. The windows were quite soundproof - we were right over the street and slept well. We didn't use the on-site... More

We checked in and immediately saw stained carpeting throughout the room, dirty bathroom with hairs, and very dated and worn out furniture. We sat down and started hearing a dog barking. Sure enough, I went into the hallway and someone had a dog barking in a room. I went to call the front desk and the phone in the room... More

We choose the Melrose from a variety of different options online, and arrived late friday night. Valet was immeadiately available and patient. The staff were friendly, polite and happy. The room was HUGE, lovely decorated, and peaceful. The metro is just around the corner, and the double decker buses that we bought tickets for were as close as the metro.... More

Okay -- when you pay less than 2/3 the going rate in DC, you have to set proper expectations. I've stayed here a few times -- on purpose-- and here's what you get. Large rooms with furniture so that you don't have to eat or work on your bed; great location, a short walk to Metro and to Georgetown, as... More

The hubby and I decided to go to Washington for a quick 3 day visit to check out the sights and enjoy some blue crabs and oysters. Booked this hotel as a special deal via a travel site that advertised it as a 4-star hotel in the Georgetown/Foggy Bottom area, so I thought, we can't go wrong. As soon as... More

The Melrose Hotel is a quiet, classy gem in a great location in the Foggy Bottom area. As parents of a student at George Washington University, it's conveniently located to the campus and its dorms. It's also a short walk to the Metro, a Catholic Church, Trader Joe's, and not far from the National Mall. I'm looking forward to our... More

Thank you for staying at The Melrose Hotel. I appreciate your feedback and wanted to let you know that the decor is being updated.
