This is a tough review to write. Jack, the owner, is super nice. He had a well-stocked fridge that was at our disposal. He went out of his way to be friendly and inviting, with baked cookies and a smile every day. However, the infrastructure of the place is disappointing. Our third floor room had no hot water the first... More

I had the pleasure of staying in the Kalorama guest house for a week with a group of 7 colleagues . Jack was tremendously welcoming. We gave us free reign of the living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry facilities and beer fridge. Really, we couldn't have done better. It had all the advantages of home, but with a local support... More

I attended a National Science Foundation function at the nearby large chain hotel. Unfortunately (so I thought) it was sold out for rooms. But I found the Kalorama guest house. It was a charming place

Beautiful house and great location! The owner, Jack, is one of the nicest people I've ever met. He makes sure you have everything you need and cooks a delicious breakfast! My room was very clean and comfortable. Can't wait to come back :)

We found the Kalorama by searching for accommodations near the National Zoo. The reviews were all good so we booked a room. Jack (the most awesome host) put us in the Street Level Suite and it was just perfect. Small and cozy in a wonderful way. Breakfast was good and the whole place has a great vibe. The walk to... More

How uplifting to have the owner of a place greet you outside, right in the middle of this vibrant part of D.C. Great service and amenities. It's funny how every element of logistics becomes easier when you're not just one among a hoard of people, but taken care of as a real guest. The house has a great Victorian character... More

My husband and I stayed at the Kalorama Guest House for 4 days in February. We loved that beautiful Victorian-style house with clean, cozy rooms and delicious breakfast in the morning. There is also a common living area where you can watch TV and drink free coffee or tea any time of the day. Maid kept our room spotless throughout... More

Jack is a extremely accommodating and warm host, and the house itself is really wonderful. My girlfriend and I had a late night before the day of our checkout and we felt totally at home and welcome watching a movie in the common area while we waited for our ride. Also, very affordable!

I have stayed at the Kalorama Guest House on two occasions and have been very pleased both times. You could not ask for a more accommodating host: Jack is always looking to make your stay in DC more pleasant. The Guest House has a great location, a short block off Connecticut Avenue. The neighborhood is very upscale and pleasant. The... More
