A good Bed and Breakfast in a very safe area. The owner was very very nice but the Bed and Breakfast was a little too far away from the subway. The free Zoo was just around the corner, which was great.

We were so happy we chose the Kalorama Guest House for our recent trip to DC. The room was comfortable, quiet, and the breakfast was outstanding. Jack was so friendly and introduced us to any new guests at breakfast. I will go back again if I am in Washington. Great Price for the area.

We selected the b&b by price and recommendation of a german magazine. It was a good choice. We had a place for the car, access to the metro to go downtown, small but adequate room. Everything was topped by our friendly host, offering drinks for free, claiming 'feel at home'.

Jack is extremely welcoming and attentive, and the breakfast was terrific (including my conversation with one of the other guests). The room in which I stayed was basic but clean and comfortable. Very convenient from the Woodley Park / Zoo metro stop on the red line. A good neighborhood to walk around (including in Rock Creek Park). Good restaurants nearby... More

As a patient at the NIH I have returned to the DC area every 28 days for the past 7 months - staying in a different area hotel each time. On my last visit reviews led me to try the Kalorama Guest House, and after my 2nd night there I booked ahead for the next two monthly trips! Jack makes... More

This is a really good place to stay while in DC. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The full breakfast was good and we enjoyed meeting other guests at the breakfast table. Jack, the proprietor, is so helpful and generous with beer, cookies and wine in the afternoon. It is located in a quiet neighborhood close to a Metro... More

I was only in DC for 24 hours and had an event near DuPont Circle. I appreciated very easy access from the Metro. Even though I arrived very early, Jack let me check in early since the room was clean. He was extremely helpful and attentive. Outside is just lovely. Inside is fine, kind of homey. I didn't eat so... More

Yes, Jack is a great friendly host. He really makes you feel like home, will share beer, wine, cookies with his guests and he will make you eggs in the morning. The house is beautiful. But old, it feels and smells like it sometimes. We stayed at the Street Level Suite, which is big and nice, the hardwood floor was... More

Loved staying at the Kalorama Guesthouse. Location is great, the Woodley Park area is a very green and safe neighbourhood and close to the metro. Felt at home at the guesthouse right away. The owner knows what hospitality is all about! A perfect place to stay, rooms are nice and clean. Has a homely feel to it. Also great for... More

This place is a gem. I stay here every time I come to DC to work at the museum of natural history. It's a real home away from home. You wake up to a full breakfast (eggs, French toast, coffee, bacon), and come home to beer, wine, and cookies. Jack is incredibly kind and welcoming. You can't beat the price... More
