Great location and it was only a walk across the street to the Metro. Ford Theatre was only a couple blocks away. Stayed on 4th floor it was an awesome historic building. Room was very nice with small refrig in closet and very comfortable bed. Had plenty of hot water and a/c was very comfortable and quiet. Had a desk... More

When it comes to luxury stays, Washington DC has a plethora of choices. The Monaco Washington DC, a Kimpton Hotel, has definitely a slice of the market on intimate upscale experiences. The room was standard on the basement floor and not very spacious, but very quiet taking into consideration that the property occupies an entire city block between 7th and... More

This hotel is centrally located in DC, near a metro stop and is wonderful! It's located in a former post office -- which you can still imagine when walking in the halls but the rooms are lovely hotel rooms and the shared areas -- including the hallways are spectacularly decorated! And the staff as always helpful and gracious. Love it!!

Centrally located, this hotel did everything to ensure we came back again. Very helpful staff and many small touches were much appreciated. Everything worked - you can even hire a bike! Only two criticisms - my breakfast coffee was very watery and there are no restrooms in the central lobby area..

Thanks for the great review PennySMitchell! We're glad you loved your stay - I'll look into that coffee, because we serve an absolutely fantastic roast from Cafe Vita and that certainly doesn't describe our normal offering - and great news on the bikes - they're free to use - no hire necessary! We hope you come back again very soon,... More

Have stayed at many hotel Monaco's. This one is in a Old Historical post office (cool). The Hotel is good if you are just there for a room to sleep. It doesn't seem to have the perks and quality as the other Hotel Monaco's. First the towels are from the 1980' and the staff really doesn't care that you are... More

I'm so glad you enjoyed the location, we couldn't agree more that it sets the Monaco apart, and we're eyeing that front carpet too after a very tough winter, I assure you! Travel safe, Best Ed - Monaco DC GM More

Fantastical hotel with quirky decorations in the center of it all. Positives: Within walking distance of most destinations Happy hour, cookie hour, free use of their bikes Nice workout area Very close to the metro - and museums Friendly and helpful staff Negatives Slow wifi Noise level ---> we happened to be staying in a room directly below a wedding.... This lovely boutique hotel occupies the grand former Post Office, just across the street from the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art museums. The hotel is bright, on-trend, warm and very comfortably furnished. My room was very quiet, and everything functioned and was well-equipped (incl wifi and extra gadget-plugs.) Really good Tivoli alarm/ radio. And the restaurant Poste does... More

This is what a Hotel should be, attentive, gracious, well appointed, and priced to meet all of these goals. Located at 7th & F Street, NW, it is very convenient to all of the usual tourist places you want to see in Washington. It is also great in providing to you things you might want, such a loaner bicycles, a... More

Came for a weekend trip to DC and picked the Hotel Monaco due to the hotel being pet-friendly and we were bringing our dog to stay with us. When we arrived we were greeted by friiendly and helpful staff who took care of any issues we had while we were there (April 10-12), whether it was to answer our questions... More

I'm so glad that you had a great stay and were able to bring your Cairn. We have Westies at home and know what great dogs they are, but truthfully, we love all our VIPets! We hope that you're able to come back again soon as well. Cheers Ed - Monaco DC GM More

Stayed here three nights. Staff was exceptional. Loved the fruit-scented waters in the lobby, the comfortable beds (and pillows) and the signature Raid the Minibar coupon I received as a Karma member. Convenient to the mall, good restaurants and Georgetown Law. Our rooms--on opposite ends of the hotel--were both quiet. Large hallways made for an elegant feel. The night security... More
