I haven't even checked out yet and I already want to submit my review. I am a big fan of Kimpton Hotels, especially the Hotel Monaco. It is located in a great part of town across the street from the National Portrait Gallery and across the corner from the Verizon Center. Close to the National Mall (few blocks), International Spy... We have stayed at this hotel on multiple locations and always enjoy the experience. Being in the old federal Post Office building, the hotel has a solid feel from its stone and marble construction. The hallways are massively large and long, and the rooms also are extremely spacious for such an urban locale (with very tall ceilings, they presumably were... More

Exellent service and atmosphere, beautiful architecture and interesting history. Walking distance to everything DC has t9 offer. Definitely recommend this hotel. The staff are excellent historians about the building.

Hotel Monaco is a unique looking hotel with tall ceilings and long hallways. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming with friendly desk attendants who were happy to help us. The room was spacious and offered a desk with 2 chairs and enough space for 2 laptops and notes. They provided many outlets to charge our devices as well as free... More

We booked the Hotel Monaco on line via Booking.Com as we were under pressure to find accommodation during what turned out to be a very busy week in Washington DC. We booked a King Premier Room but were upgraded at checkin to a Mediterranean Suite which was a great surprise. Staff at checkin in were fantastic and the whole hotel... More

Interesting, well-maintained, very friendly staff. The rooms had a slightly strange set-up, but were quite comfortable. Only stayed two nights for business, did not explore the hotel much. Offers morning coffee.

Stayed here two nights on business. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It has a lot of style and class. The staff is as good as it gets and the room was very comfortable. It's within walking distance to tourist sites if that's important too.

This hotel has a beautiful building that used to be the DC Post Office. i used to stay at this hotel because it's across the street from our office. I now prefer to walk 10 blocks to Marriott Marquis. He're the reasons for the change. 1. The people at the front desk are very nice. But they fouled up one... More

This hotel is directly across from national portrait gallery. Its location is convenient to attractions (mall, theaters). A subway station is nearby, as are many restaurants. It is in a repurposed building, and both interior and exterior are well designed. The staff is very personable and helpful. Enjoyed staying here!

arrived at 10 pm on Thursday night after a long drive and a last minute reservation through hotels.com. Desk coolly informed us that a rez never should have been booked since they were at full capacity. They gave us a perfunctory apology, and the vibe was less than inviting and it is unclear why. good news is we can cross... More

I'm truly as disappointed as you sushi00travel, it's clear that we dropped the ball with Hotels.com that night and I'm very sorry. It understandably seems to have colored your impressions of our new lobby, and generally well received staff. I hope that you'll give us a second chance, let me know if you decide to. Best Ed - Monaco DC... More
