We chose the Hotel Monaco mainly because of its great location and it really scores on that count. We also got a better deal than the other 5 star hotels were offering. We could walk to almost all the "sights" and had a wonderful visit to Washington generally. There are also many restaurants in the vicinity. I particularly recommend Cocina... more

We wanted to have a nice quiet vacation and we couldn’t in this NOISY HOTEL. They had a big conference at the end of our corridor; yes the same corridor where the rooms are. We could hear everything, and by this I mean since they started carrying and placing the tables, chairs etc… to the party, and of course till... more

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco because of the location, which is indeed terrific, and the great price we got--about 1/2 the $$ shown on Trip Advisor page. After being cautioned in reviews about room size and lower floor rooms we reserved a Monte Carlo room. When we arrived and were to be on the lower floor, we requested a... more

We stayed here in January of 2008 for 3 nights. Fabulous location - across the street from the Verizon Center and the Portrait Gallery. The hotel looks like a Smithsonian museum from the outside. Pluses Concierge was helpful prior to stay - all room requests were granted Unique decor and atmosphere-you could choose your animal themed bathrobe Complimentary Evening reception... more

We stayed here with our 3 teenage children. The hotel had full details of the ages of our children when we booked. We had 1 large room for the kids but the 2 beds were only large singles so we asked for a rollaway. We were told that this was contrary to fire regulations and that our only option was to... more

Actually got a much lower price than the listed here. The whole layout of the place, from the awesome lobby to the sweet rooms is really well designed. They had many special touches, from great robes, to choosing the type of pillow you prefer. We especially loved being able to babysit a little goldfish named Hanna!! Plus, the Alexandria area... more

Hello Tessah5702. Thank you for your comments. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and were able to take in the décor, use the robes and have a little friend stay with you also. It seems you took part in the best qualities of Hotel Monaco while site seeing in the capital. I see you mentioned that you may...

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The location is good, it is withing walking distance to all major tourist attractions and there are a lot of restaurants in this area. However, we would not stay at this hotel again because it was very noisy. The house keeping staff was very loud (singing, chatting with eath other) already at 7.30... more

Stayed 3 nights with my wife on a personal vacation. Hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to all the sites. We upgraded rooms at check-in to a suite with 2 rooms and bathroom. Overall, it was a nice hotel, but there were just some little things that bothered us. The sitting room was decent with... more

The hotel's location is great. It's reasonably close to the Mall (maybe not with young kids), or the Metro stop is just across the street. The Verizon Center is also across the street as are a number of eateries to suit all pockets and tastes on 7th street, as well as Chinatown. For a quick brekky, there's Starbucks at 7... more

Great little gem of a hotel. Great atmosphere and service makes up for the very small room. Right across from a good metro stop with lots of restaurants and sights within walking distance. more
