Couldn't get into the Hilton Garden Inn, my preference for DC. HS is about a five block walk from the nearest metro (McPherson Square). It's OK, but a bit seedy and rundown--though perfectly clean. And cheap. We stayed two nights and I wouldn't want to make this my base for a longer term visit. More

Location is amazing. Was able to find street parking for free. Neighborhood is really nice and clean, very well lit up while walking back to the hotel late at night.
