MVB&B id a great place to stay whenever in DC. It is close to all turist locations, White House, The Mall with all Smithsonian Museums, Chinatown, etc. Besides nice restaurants and Super Market. Mount Vernon itself is a nice and comfortable place with inner keeper Keith who's always smiling and trying to do better for every person. The breakfast was... More

We made MVS B&B our home base for a 2 1/2-day "stay"-cation in DC where most of our planned events were near the National Gallery of Art. Let me start with the (very strong) positives: the building is gracious, attractive, elegant, welcoming and comfortable (it shows all the signs of being well-loved and well-tended); the owner, Keith, is more than... We were in town to visit family and stayed here for just one night. This will definitely be our place to stay on future visits as owner, Keith Byrd made us feel so welcomed! The location is perfect for exploring DC. The accommodations are top notch with a very comfortable bed, luxury linens, and gracious spaces. Breakfast was superb! We... More

Between wonderful breakfasts, elegant and stately surroundings as the period home is in beautiful condition, spacious room with absolutely every amenity anticipated, we could not have asked for more. Exquisite retreat but still convenient to the activities of busy DC.

Stayed here for three nights as part of a short stay in the East Coast of the USA. We were met by Keith, the proprietor, who gave us a quick tour of the of the room and some advice about what to do and how to get about in DC. His advice was very useful and helped us organise our... More

We loved our stay at this B&B! The owner was friendly, helpful, and prepared a wonderful breakfast for all of the guests. The building is beautiful and well kept. It's also located near several excellent restaurants. The only downside was the evening traffic noise, but it didn't bother us that much. We had the terrace room with a roof top... More

My girlfriend and I spend a very enjoyable low key long weekend in Washington. I chose Mt. Vernon due to all the fantastic reviews and it did not disappoint. Keith is a marvellous host and his quirky charm is infectious. We stayed in the Bombay room which is decorated very tastefully and extremely comfortable. It is facing the road so... More

This B&B does indeed suffer from traffic noise - but we expected that from other reviews. We chose the Terrace Room which had lots of space (suited us since we had been travelling for almost three weeks so had a fair amount of luggage). The bathroom for this room is, as has been said, not en-suite - it is actually... More

Very nice owners who work hard to make you comfortable. The location is very convenient to the Washington Convention Center. I stayed in the Terrace Room on the third floor (it's bathroom is on the second floor). While the room is large and comfortable with a great view from the roof-top terrace, the noise of the city really casts itself... More

Over the last 20 years I've stayed in many bed and breakfasts in the DC area including Dupont Circle, Capital Hill, and Logan Circle. On this business trip I decided to try the Mount Vernon area; an area I've never stayed in before. If you are a light sleeper, as I am, this may not be the place for you.... More
