Big dorm is long and spacious, no privacy curtain for each bed though. Kitchen upstairs looks newly renovated, nice spot to hangout. Shared bathroom facilities are clean and great. Towel provided. Quite a few decent eateries nearby. Walkable to musuems and the national mall where all the famous sights are. I guess this is the safest US city ;p

Had a fab time staying at this hostel. Met some great new people and enjoyed seeing the city together. Location is excellent to see downtown DC. I travelled in and out of Union Station on foot (40 min walk) and felt safe. My dorm was fine. Simple but comfy bunk, locker for my gear (bring a lock) and easy access to shared bathrooms. Wifi in my dorm was non-existent but it worked great in the reception and just sitting on the brownstone stoop outside. Communal breakfast was simple, fresh cooked choc chip pancakes and coffee (all I needed) and all the prep areas you need if you wanna fetch your own food (great cheap supermarket next door). Lots of nice people to chat to on the days I stayed. Nice outdoor terrace to eat too.

Good value for money, good location just 5 minutes away from the circulator bus that would take you to all the main attractions, supermarket next door, but very expensive. Restaurants and bars nearby, the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful, good kitchen, clean common parts and room, free luggage storage, free breakfast, safe neighbourhood, other guest were friendly, good for meeting new people, charging point near the bed, had a good sleep, would stay here again. No wifi in the room, had to come to the reception to get a good signal

The smell of BO is unbearable in the rooms. Bathrooms and showers were hardly in working condition at all. I got bed bugs - the sheets smelled awful, it was honestly like living in squalor. It felt like what I imagine prison to be, but at least I had the option to leave.

This was probably one of my least favorite hostel experiences of the many I’ve visited around the world. The only pro is that it’s in a GREAT location for exploring DC and close to the metro station. Was there a dude moaning via sex noises in his sleep and keeping everyone up? Yes. Did anyone work up the courage to throw something at the horn Irishman and tell him to stop? No. Also, there is little privacy in the rooms, and the bathrooms are weak and poorly located in conjunction with the rooms. With all that being said, it’s probably worth it for a night or two, but not a fantastic place to stay for longer than that. Just hope there are no obnoxious people in your room. I’m sorry Duo Housing that the dude tainted my visit but my god how could it not.

It is indeed pretty clean place to stay. Beds are passable. It is also truly mix when it comes to culture. You will be able to meet all people from all different countries here. The two complains I have would be that the breakfast starts too late and the snoring sound of other people.

In Duo Housing I had a pleasant stay. Since I gave the accommodation 3 stars/5, in this review I’ll mention my three pros and two cons. Pros - Location - Decent price per night - Offers breakfast and has supermarket next door Cons - Okayish hygiene of (bath)room - Noisy All in all, I could see myself returning here.

Stayed here for four nights in May Paid for a 6 bed mixed form which was in a separate building two doors down (no problems here) Decent stay - the room was a bit hot but nothing too bad and the beds comfortable (see below) - the breakfast (pancakes, lemonade and coffee) was free flowing and tasty The staff were mixed in terms of helpfulness but a special shout out to the owner who was extremely friendly, helpful, and funny Whilst no social events are being put on yet because of, yes you guessed it, covid (even though there are no restrictions at all in DC) I found people to chat to every evening in the main reception area As a requirement to check out, you have to strip your bed when I stripped my mattress cover I discovered that it was absolutely disgusting - so many stains of different colours - vile in the extreme - and really clouded my view of the hostel - be wary of this

The staff was very kindly, all the spots are very cleaned cause you must take your shoes off at the entrance. About the breakfast was very nice to get some pancakes and free coffee everyday. Also the baths and showers I found clean every time. I completely recommend it for all kind of ppl

I came with my bike and since I couldn't take my wheels off (I didn't have tools for this) I was told to LEAVE IT OUTSIDE, because "those are the rules". There is plenty of space inside to leave it, and I was quite concerned about leaving it overnight parked outside, but the front desk didn't budge at all and refused to even consider letting me bring it in, even just for the night. I offered many different compromises, like bringing it in late in the evening and getting it out early in the morning, to take up minimal space during the day, and they still refused. They took the rules so seriously that it basically amounted to an insult to the guest (me). Imagine, you bring your bike and politely request to bring it in just for the night, and they say "wel sir, rules are rules so I'm afraid I can't let you do that." Honestly unbelievable. Stay away. Horribly managed, nazis about rules.
